After a week off, we have the return of The Venture Bros.

"The Better Man"
The Order of the Triad must banish and destroy a demon spawned from hell.

Finally, besides a quick bit in the season opener, Dr. Orpheus returns!

In case you miss it, the episode hasn't been loaded online, yet. It is usually posted on Monday at the official Venture Bros. website.

And, for extra goodies, a promo for the mid-season finale, "Pinstripes & Poltergeists", featuring the long-awaited return of Brock Sampson.

Really pushing the censor buttons aren't they?

"Can I pet your pussy?"

The triad were amusing here...Quizboy sure gets called on a lot.

Most of the men on the show seem to have failed relationships, except Rusty's siamese twin (and the Monarch bounced back).

Easily the best episode of the season. I honestly cannot get enough of the Alchemist.

I couldn't stop laughing with the "Can I pet your pussy."

I have mixed feelings about the semi-resolution of Triana/Dean. I'm glad they addressed it (finally), but it ended a bit abrupt. At least it was done in a bittersweet way.

...that line is a tribute to a "famous" Tonight Show incident that never actually happened.

Fully agreed.

Hell, it might have been the best episode since season 2; definitely since The Doctor Is Sin.

Sweet episode, and at least Dean and Triana come to some sort of resolution. And I liked that the left the door open for Triana to come back.

I voted Above Average, simply because it tied up a loose end, accomplished about three things (not counting the resolution to Dean/Triana), and gave us a little more background to Orpheus. Aside from that it was still pretty standard and the jokes weren't so great.

I got a feeling we'll be seeing Triana down the line later, maybe in a bad guy role. There was no reason for Orpheus is master to push her this way unless it is meant to accomplish something later, perhaps to his benefit, so I guess we'll be seeing more of the master later on.

looks like Hank is realy getting fed up with la vida Venture, and if you look closely in the mall island scene, is that Brock who has his face covered by a plant leaf?

I stated this on another board: this episode didn't make me laugh like some of the others from this season, but damn did it draw me in. To me it seems that the show is trading in some of its humor in exchange for more character development, which is never ever a bad thing. Plus, it's the TRIAD!! But it's nice to see that, as a consequence of them losing their immortality, Hank and Dean are getting smarter and smarter with each episode.

Oh, and seconded on how abrupt the Dean/Trianna thing went down, but at least we get a sense of how clever Trianna is.

I went back and looked. I don't think it was. The body was drawn way different and the face didn't really look like Brock other than in generalities (well...the split second you see the face).

your right at .54 in that clip he has an older face, glasses and a beard, for the split second I saw it I thought it was Brock in that blue button down shirt of his

I hope so. His appearances have been 100% entertaining since his introduction--plus, I love the voice actor for the Master, Jon Benjamin, known best perhaps from his role as Coach McGuirk in Home Movies.

Really? I had to turn off the AS playback five minutes into it, it was so funny. Those first five or six minutes are probably the densest hilarity I've ever seen in VB. It does have all the signs of a dirty joke marathon, however, which may not be to some people's tastes--but, hey, at least there weren't pedophile jokes this time around. :p

I laughed the hardest toward the end when they realized that they were in hell after all when the cat walked in and across the ceiling complaining about getting dry food and where he was being petted...simply because I imagine that if I could hear my cats, they'd probably say about the same kind of things... :)

I guess I'm the only one who thought it was below average. It wasn't State Dinner bad, but I found it very forgettable.

Great episode. I still think Dr. O (& the Triad can tag along too) should get a spin off series!

21 may have carted him off, but it still doesn't ad up, 'cause Venture never once asked where his bodyguard -- who is being padi to do this -- is at. With non-replacable boys now in the complex -- a complex always under attack -- you'd think Venture would want to know where Sgt. Hatred is.
