Hank and Dean are back! A whole new season of adventures are before us!

"Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel"
Questions are answered and truths are revealed. Learn how Henchman 21 copes with life without 24. See what happens when Brock and the Venture family are forced to part ways. Discover the final fate of H.E.L.P.eR. And all the while, the balance of the free world hangs in the hands of Dean Venture, who must kill Hitler.

In case you miss it, the episode hasn't been loaded online, yet. I'm sure it will be sometime within the next week or so. Check the official Venture Bros. website.

Need to get into the mood, check out a Season 4 Promo.

Sadly it's airtimes are aweful. 11 at night? Re-runned at 3 in the morning? Fuck. I'll have to watch it on the Adult Swim site.

HeLPeR's head on the spider robot from season 2? Genius.

I'm not quite sure if I buy Hunter Gathers being undercover, but the whole spy arc did bring that rather sweet ending with Hank and Brock.

Amazing how OSI's concoction could "cure" Sgt. Hatred, even if only temporarily. Of course, when it comes back... evacuate the area, children and children first.

Additionally, I love how the Venture Vs. Orpheus philosophy battle from Season 2 came back in a way: 21 asked the both of them to resurrect 24, but like the previous face off, both had severe limitations.

Brock using HeLPeR's head to hold the grenade was damned inspired.

I still need to rewatch the episode simply to digest it, but I am very glad that they're back.

Dude, maybe it's because I haven't watched this show since it aired 1.5 years ago, but I was completely confused the entire episode. Of course it didn't help how they kept jumping around the timeline. I can't even remember how the last season ended, why Brock was being hunted by OSI, what the cliffhanger was, etc, etc, etc. Still, good episode I guess.

I enjoyed it but the timeline switching warrants a second or third viewing just to absorb it all. Definitely a lot of set-up for the season to come...I just wonder if they will ever get back to the ORB business from last season at all or if it was just a one-shot deal?

My only question, which might be answered upon repeat viewings (or future episodes), is why does 21 have access to the X-1 to go out with his LARP crew? Does he work for Venture now or what?

Now that I think back on it, I really liked the fact that at the very end with Brock and Hank, Brock seemed really happy for the first time in a long time...if not for the first time in the series.

So about fifteen minutes in after Brock went under the knife, they replayed the start of the show (WTF?:brickwall:) so what happened after Brock went under the Knife?

Just watched the second half of episode 4X01 of the Venture Brothers on the link provided above!

Just kidding, of course I killed Hitler!

Never thought I'd hear Hank ever say that, very cool:beer:!

They had a lot of funny gags, but the timeline jumping made it really hard to keep track of what was happening when. People complained about SGU's first episode going back and forth...this was worse!

Was it me, or did they try to cram waaaay too much in? I didn't feel that the episode had a very good narrative and seemed to be an hour episode cut down into 20 minutes.

That said, it did seem to set up things for the new season. I hope that Hatred has been completely cured of being a child perve as I just don't find child abuse all that funny (especially as a running gag). If they retcon that aspect away from the character altogether, I'll be a happy viewer (as I like mostly like Hatred and think he'd serve well with the insanity of the Venture Team).

Dude, maybe it's because I haven't watched this show since it aired 1.5 years ago, but I was completely confused the entire episode.

Season 3 ended in late August 2008, a little over a year ago. This has been the shortest break between seasons. Previous breaks have been approx. 2 years.

EDIT: Those who missed it can check it out here.

I can't remember the group that Brock is now under. I'm also a little confused with Hunter Gather...

Their called Sphink..it's a Cobra like group or was maybe they changed .

Was it the same group from the episode last season that the OSI were fighting in the brief (yet hilarious) GiJoe homage bit? I thought those outfits looked familiar, but I didn't place it when I was watching the episode...
