Vengeance navigation system CLEARLY needs to go back to drawing board

Re: Vengeance navigation system CLEARLY needs to go back to drawing bo

The computer even says it can't guarentee it can make it to the destination, and if he wants to continue, the ship pushes it's battered body to the limit and crashes just short of it taking out several city blocks trying.

I mean give her a break, if I gutted you with a knife, kicked your sharpely in both shins then ordered you to walk to a shop 3 miles away for a donut, you wouldn't fair so well either.
If you did all that to me and it looked like I'd wind up wiping out everybody who built and commisioned me, I'd probably do a double backflip in atmo just to make sure my struts came off early so when I augered in, I would NOT wipe out the city by the bay.

Let's remember, though, that the poor ship had already been told to act against civil Starfleet guidelines, by the man who had ordered her built - and was now being told to be uncivil by the man who had helped design her. Whether I loved those two guys with sick devotion as the result, and/or wanted to hurt them and the whole world, my choice probably would be to go berserk and break as many things as possible, as long as that included myself.

I mean, seriously? Commander John Harrison gives a vocal command for the ship to take him to Starfleet Headquarters. "Confirmed?" the ship asks. "Confirmed," Harrison replies, and then the ship promptly crushes Alcatraz before demolishing half of San Francisco. Harrison didn't say "Set a collision course for Starfleet Headquarters," he said, "Destination: Starfleet Headquarters."

Good thing Admiral Marcus didn't set a course for New Vulcan, the damn ship would have crashed into it. I believe a formal inquiry should be held.

I jest, of course, but this is a serious oversight on the part of the Dreadnaught-class design team :p
The same folks who designed the massage machine in Thunderball, no doubt.
