Vectoring Warp Nacelles ? What are they ?

What are Vectoring Warp Nacelles ? Does that mean the whole nacelle rotates circularwise around it's axis or does it tilt up or down ?

This is part of the nonsense being spouted by "StarTrek11" in the movie forum. He's claiming that he has a "friend at ILM" who told him that the warp nacelles are hinged at the shoulders in the new flick. There are SOME people who've theorized that "Bones" and "Trek11" are the same person, though that's far from certain. Both have been posting a lot of wildly speculative stuff, however.

This post tends to support the "both the same person" theory in my eyes, by the way.

Oh ok. I figured he was talking about the variable geometry nacelles used on the Intrepid class starships.

Cary, AFAIK there is no connection between the two. Bonz has said she remembers Bones from the old days. I'm leaving this open for now pending clarification from him on the topic.

Edit: He's been banned for spamming. Does anyone else want to discuss this topic in terms of designs like Voyager's nacelles, or should I close it?

I do not see much point for discussion on the variable geometry nacelles, they have been well documented in several areas. I for one would not have a problem with you closing this thread. But if anyone has any questions about the above I would love to attempt to educate them.
