VARIETY: Paramount-Skydance merger collapsed in the final moments, and will lead to layoffs and austerity measures

It's licensing. In the US, the first ten Trek movies were pulled from Paramount+ and licensed out to (HBO) Max for awhile. If a particular show or movie isn't on your streaming service anymore, it may be licensed somewhere else or may even just be the result of its particular license having expired.
Films shuffle around all the time on streaming services. Almost a third of the films I watch on streaming each month are the ones about to disappear. It's a great way of getting something from my 200+ watch list to the front of the line. But many I end up liking take forever to show up again. Pretty much anything I could see myself watching at least twice again I buy on disc or wait for a digital copy sale.

Too reasonable.

Some would say that's a good reason not to completely give up on physical media entirely yet. You don't have to worry about something you like or want to see disappearing abruptly from your streaming service. It'll always be there on your schedule, not theirs.

Luxury! When I was a lad all we had was mental media. Had to memorized all the TOS episodes! You never knew when your local would stop playing them!
Yeah, when I was a kid growing up in the middle of nowhere, none of the stations carried Star Trek for about four years (5th-10th grade). I had to make do with the Blish adaptations. I do remember a run of TAS, when it was on a cable channel (maybe USA Network?) sometime in middle school.

I have everything I want either on DVD or Blu-Ray. So, I don't need Streaming Services for Star Trek.

The only thing outstanding in my collection is DSC Season 5, which will be fixed in a matter of weeks. I'll also upgrade TOS to Blu-Ray, just like I already have with TNG.

Anything afterwards, it'll depend on what we're talking about and how much I like it.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Apex Capital Trust a venture capital firm has made an all-cash offer of $43 billion for Paramount which is $35 billion more than the $8 billion being offered by SkyDance.
