Vance's Schematics IV

ST-One, Have you looked at some of the ships on the worlds oceans. Some of the ships on the worlds oceans are down right ugly. If a ship design is ugly to you just think of it as a touch of realism.

I like this design series :) and what could be next :techman:

I hope for a small version of the Nebulea class Tactical pod :)

Not to degrade the artistry involved in creating these, but some of these designs are really ugly.

That's part of the issue about being so inclusive, there's a LOT of bad designs out there, but in fanon and in official works. I haven't even done the bulk of the DS9 wreck-bases yet. You should see what they did to so many poor Excelsior models. It's just wrong.

Still, if a design is ugly but functional, I'll very much forgive it. Freighters, in particular, aren't going to be elegant vessels after all.

I gotta say, I'm totally lovin' the TNG variants... they look real cool. Any chance of a set of variants maybe based on the Nebula-Class, or a TNG-era thru-deck cruiser?

Agreed. :)

I love those next gen ships they are great. Love the toolkits too thanks for doing those they sure help me when doing a few ships of my own

Vance, I have a request. If you are going to do additional toolkits, could you please include the connecting dorsals and the bottom sides of the warp nacels? Thanks to your toolkits, I'm getting ideas for ships. LOL The only hold up is time to put them together.

Sweet....a Fed Mauler. :D

thanks for the revisions a new Design :)

whats a Mauler??

Maulers are a type of weapon from SFB. They weren't actually used by the Federation but they were used by the Romulans, Klingons, and Lyrans. Also, the Andromedans employed a weapon that was functionally similar to the Mauler that they may have stolen from one of the milky way races, or they may have developed it on their own.

Basically, the Mauler is a gigantic, unwieldy cannon that a ship is built around and is powered by enormous battery banks. They were mostly used for assaults on fixed positions or bases that couldn't escape. The Mauler cannon is so powerful that firing it enough will damage the firing ship.

oh ok so kinda like what we saw in the last ep of TNG but like a TOS version of a super powerful phaser :)
