Vance's Schematics II

Here's a challenge: I'd be curious to see your take on Mike Alexander's NX-1701-A "the Enterprise that never was" from that same page in Starlog #144 in '89.

Vance, great designs as always, but a question about the Yorktown. From the dorsal view the nacelle pylons have a distinct "gullwinged" appearance, but from the side view they project straight out from the hull and then angle downward. Is this just a trick of my eyes, the gullwing look?

It's actually a trick of the eye, and I had to study Legacy videos a LOT to see what was going on. The 'gullwing' illusion is because the inner part of the pylons sweep forward. They're still mostly horizontally flat, though. (There's a SLIGHT angle there, but not much.)

Wow great schematics :)

and you finally make the Jenghiz class finally look awsome to me. Thanks :)

I had idea for a cool TMP era Heavy cruiser :

Refit or Miranda Saucer with a Belknap style neck
attached to a Constitution secondary Hull
but with the nacelles attached like they are on the Belknap

not sure what i name it yet

Bohuss Class Freighter
Yeah, this was a botched attempt to 'correct' the Lotus Flower to be more reasonable to what she was supposed to be... but I decided to keep the design anyway.

Hmmm, why do i suddenly think of the Horizon-class?

Well, the spherical primary hull and the warp engines at lower right are from my redraw of Aridas's Horizon class... so I guess it stands to reason. :)

Sorry Vance not trying to steal your thread.

ok i see it now just give it the shorter Miranda style Saucer and the usual Miranda Roll-bar torpedo thing and Bam! you have what i was thinking and i did think of a name for it :D

many thanks jep316 :)

Kaiser, what you're describing has 'already been done', so I can get to it (it's really just a drop-bash).. but I want to see what the 'actual' ship and registry is first.

Vance,

Have you ever attempted to draw the "Mars Defense Perimeter" ships seen in "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II"?
