VAMPIRES! BLEHHH!!!!

An immortal like Flint would make a great vampire. Someone who has discovered that blood from living humans will keep him alive and young, and has been living for centuries murdering people. It could make a fun episode.

So if they drink your blood do they turn you into a vampire?

Would this be the coolest way ever to lose a red shirt?

Sounds kinda like Borg assimilation.
I never thought about it that way before but, yeah, the Borg could be seen as a sic-fi take on vampires.

I always thought of the Borg as zombies, not Vampires. They're far too mindless to be be Vamps.

(btw, Trek did an excellent Zombie Vulcan episode in ENT's "Impulse")

Silly thought...

Initially, it might be easy to overlook a Caitian as being "embraced", assuming, of course, how much of their behavior parallels terran felines.

Consider, they already have fangs. They have slitted pupils and some, like M'Ress have yellow irises. Given their physiology, odds are they are primarily carnivores and they may not have qualms about consuming blood anyway. If they are naturally nocturnal, well, the act of avoiding sunlight totally may go unnoticed for a while. (Of course, if one is aboard a starship, avoiding sunlight is a fairly easy task. Just don't walk past any viewports while deep "in system".)

Sincerely,

Bill

Interesting! Admiral Warped9, I shall consider it! Tell me though, do you think the book was going for a vampire/horror feel? I would imagine If i'm going to read about trek, Trek Horror would be a very cool place to start..
There's also Shell Game. That's more ghost than vampire, but definitely going for a horror feel.

Is this a completely ridiculous idea? Or is it a fun halloween episode?
It could be brilliant episode.
But we had that cloud from Obsession - it drank blood, I suppose it counts. Also, the guy from The Gamesters of Triskelion looked like Dracula. :D

Galt, the top "thrall"? Hmm, he did sport a cape and a raised collar. You know, I wonder how he got that position? Did he fight his way to the top as was expected of the others?

Sincerely,

Bill

He always reminded me of Ming the Merciless

He could get it for being smart or something. I don't remember him fighting, maybe other skills were necessary for his position.

But I had to merely mention that I do not partake in the horror that is Twilight.
Mind if I ask why? I found all the Twilight books to be well written. Not everyone likes the female point of view narrative.

What about the victims of the salt vampire? Did they at some point "wake up" in the Enterprise's mouge in the form of more salt vampires?

:)

And, you know, Surak bears a suspicious resemblance to a vampire that was spotted in Las Vegas once . . . .

I have no problem with the female point of view. I enjoy such books as The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, and The Queen's Confessions by Victoria Holt. I just do not find the books that interesting or well written. Plus I'm not the biggest vampire fan. And not big into super sappy love stories.

Kim Harrison's The Hollows and Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series are from the female point of view. I'm not into fantasy (except Middle Earth and Harry Potter).

Come to think of it, I hear that Dracula eventually ended up as a corrupt politician on Bajor . . . .
