VAMPIRES! BLEHHH!!!!

Ok ok. Right off the bat I will warn you that this is a rather silly topic.

TOS.

We had witches, devils, magicks of megas tu, ghosts(or at least what appeared as ghosts temporarily).. but no vampires. Why?!

We had Salt vampire, but that doesn't count! REAL VAMPIRES DRINK BLOOD!!!

Would it have been cool if The enterprise came across a planet full of vampires? What if Kirk was bitten by a vampire?

Perhaps a race of normal aliens who we just happen to discover feed off certain types of blood...... or perhaps they feed off of something that is only in certain types of blood, including human blood?

Is this a completely ridiculous idea? Or is it a fun halloween episode? IMO it'd be better than Catspaw. It would have given the green blooded spock a great chance to save the day too, but I guess that would be too obvious.

Maybe we can have vampires that only drink Green blood? Then the episode would be around saving spock from vampires. Well, I think it'd be cool, anyway.

Wait a minute we had an episode where the entity fed off the blood of humans and then they killed it with an explosion. When the dead crew members were found they were white as marble. So technically there was a "vampire". Otherwise the only thing that came to mind was a kinda Kirk and "Bella" thing.

Oh, I HATE Twilight FYI.

Actually I believe J.M. Dillard wrote a novel for Pocket Books about the Enterprise crew stalked by something much like a vampire or (vampires). It was called Bloodthirst.

Oh yeah, DOH, I knew that! But still, I meant non gaseous vampires.

Interesting! Admiral Warped9, I shall consider it! Tell me though, do you think the book was going for a vampire/horror feel? I would imagine If i'm going to read about trek, Trek Horror would be a very cool place to start..

The novels "Death's Angel" and "Bloodthirst" both featured vampires. The former had a whole bunch of other weirdos on board, too - including a giant scarab beetle and a bipedal crocodile man.

That sounds a little ridiculous.. but highly entertaining in the right mindset!

Actually it's been a very long time since I read the novel, but I have a memory of thinking it wasn't bad.

That's probably how a Trek Episode about vampires (non gaseous) would go. Not great, but not bad. I'd watch it! :techman:

As I rethink the idea, it'd probably be better to go with the more unexpected plotline that the vampires prefer green blood!

I will admit that this idea is just as cheesey as space nazis, but I don't care. I probably shouldn't start threads while drunk, though.

I loved Death's Angel. Ambassador Damu of Chiroptera was fun. Ambassador Si-s-s-s(click) was a riot. :D

Ambassador Damu of Chiroptera was fun.

(S)he's a bat, I take it?
Chiropeterans were depicted as Bela Lugosi-like vampires (pale, distinguished, blood-drinking), but they drain blood harmlessly from livestock.

The novel is stocked full of wacky, non-humanoid characters with pun-like names: Rovar of Hemiptera (a fly), Sirenia of Cetacea (a mermaid), Hotep of Djoser (a living pyramid), and especially Si-s-s-s(click) of Gavialian (a blue alligator who likes to role play).

Silly little novel, but lots of fun.

There is far more to vampires than just Twilight.

My Voyager novel, The Black Shore, is basically a vampire novel in Star Trek drag, even though I never use the v-word.

(I figured the scene where B'Elanna drives a stake through an alien bad guy's heart was a giveaway, but, oddly enough, nobody seemed to pick up on that.)

More or less, yes. No accent, tho. ;)

I play role-playing games, and Death's Angel is one of my Game Master's favourite novel, so we meet a lot of NPC from species in the book (a particularly obnoxious huge blue crocodile as a morale officer tends to stick to your memory).

And don't forget the whimsical Federation Nazi, Colonel Schaeffer.

:)
