Vampire crap

I wouldn't mind all the vampire crap if someone would give us some space opera crap. There is far too little of that around, which just makes the vampires that much more irritating.

And way way way too many cop shows masquerading as sci fi. Those shows keep being made year in and year out.
 
It's a fad. Twilight got popular, so other people decided to cash in on the genre. It will pass.
 
This is why Joss Whedon needs to get a Fray series on TV.
 
Hmm I'm not sure why True Blood is lumped in with the other 2, since it's actually pretty good and doesn't seem like it's aimed towards teens at all, but more like the 18 to 40 year old demographic, so yeah

The other 2 however is teen angsty meldramatic crap
 
True Blood is actually very good, IMO. (although I don't have HBO, so I have only seen S1)

The 'vampires gone public' idea also adds a nice speculative fiction quality most vampire creations lack.
 
Well Daybreakers comes out Friday. And that's definitely not a vampire movie for anyone who hasn't reached puberty yet.
 
Yeah, it was just coincidence that True Blood came out when the fad started (thanks, Meyer, thanks a lot).

Though, I will admit Diaries isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
 
I don't mind all the Vampire movies/shows as long as they keep having hot girls in them. :rommie:
 
Vampire fiction has been popular for nearly two hundred years now. Don't expect it to go away anytime soon.

And vampire romances are one of the hottest categories in publishing these days. Just check out your local grocery store book rack.
 
I don't mind vampire stuff in general, as long as it's, y'know, good. Which Twilight generally isn't, even putting aside all the creepy implications in it.

I'm with Temis, though, I'd love to see more space opera--preferably good, but I'll take mediocre to entertainingly bad if that's all I can get.
 
I tend to think that vampires crap.

Babies crap even when their diet consists solely of liquids. Blood probably has about the same protein content as breast milk, so I bet they crap.
