"Valient"

2 of 10

Captain
Captain
In the ep "Valient" is the GIANT Dominion ship the "Red Squad" tried to Destroy ever shown again in any other ep's
of DS-9. It would seem as if they would have shown the ship again, it could have made a difference in the final battle...

Resistance is Futile...

From what I remember, a few of them could be seen in orbit of Cardassia in the final episode.

The battleship appeared in some of the new battle footage in WYLB and in orbit of Cardassia.

That ship was certainly under-used.

They should have made a follow-up episode in which a real crew assembled by the Sisko takes on that ship, and made the episode in the same exact style as TOS' Balance of Terror. That easily would have made for one of DS9's and Trek's best episodes ever.

Correct it was show in WYLB in the defense perimeter around Cardassia Prime.

According to what I've read they're considered Heavy Battle Ships. The Battle Cruisers were what Dukat piloted that took down DS9.

Also according to some readings, there might have been 2 kinds of HBS's or there were scaling problems in the scene around Cardassia.

Apparently they were highly maneuverable, could fire only torps, and its hull was incredible thick and strong.

Probably the 4th strongest ship seen on ST behind:
The City Ship (trying...not...to....:guffaw:)
Borg Cube/Sphere

Reman Warbird Scimitar

Or even better : Have the scenario you describe, with Nog (who still sounded like he held some hero-worship for Watters and his bunch at the end, at least IMHO) watching as they stalk the ship, then take the scan--and then another scan as they realize the first one was compromised with the false 'weak point' that Valiant's talented but untrained crew failed to see through. They then depart with the scan, Sisko explaining that real knowledge of the behemoth will let them develop strategies against all of its class. I just feel like Nog, despite his 'he led us over a cliff' speech, still came off like he thought it was do-able the way they approached it.

I think it's considered a dreadnaught. And yea, there is a scaling problem in the final battle over cardassia. Unless there really are 2 versions of it.
