Is it me or is Anna channeling Zo'or (Earth Final Conflict). I know about the inherent similarities, and about the relative obscurity of EFC, but this seems more to me like a reimagining of that show than anything like the original V.

And I also hope this alien-human hybrid child thing doesn't turn into another Star Child or Hera Agathon, 'cus that shit is really annoying (building up the Jesus child only to have it revealed as much ado about nothing). I hope they just off the thing.

^^Looks like we're going to get duelling lizard babies, one Resistance and one V...

I will say this, Morena is definitely pulling off the creepy alien thing in a very convincing way. There is something just a little off about her which I find both captivating and off putting.

Wow, that was actually really good. So, instead of eating us, they're tagging us for some unknown reason in this version?

Saw the "She kills when she mates" bit coming a mile away...Kinda makes me wonder, though what these creatures actually look like w/o the bodysuits...

Alien Queen...she mates & she kills...

so when the Priest had his nightmare & then Anna mentions she needed an army, I thought what might happen was that all the humans given the vaccine are going to do the Wikus dance, which would lead to them joining the Vs due to losing their humanity &/or being outcast by other humans. Hence instant Lizard Army. But instead looks like she's gonna brood her own army, er so I guess not.

Still wonder whats going on with the priest. Also I really thought Ryan's wife was gonna lick that rat....

I thought it was a pretty good return. The most instantly notable difference is in the production style, which seems to have moved away from practical sets for the V ship to almost 100% green screen. It gives the V scenes a bit more of an unreal look, which I think works perfectly in this context. You can also tell that the revised production team is probably looking to future-proof the show a bit as a few of the V-ship scenes look tailor-made to be converted to 3-D later.

The mating scene was unexpected, as was the sudden reveal at the end, which I actually thought they weren't planning to do with the new "Diana". I'm sure the PTC will be up in arms about it....

I was a little concerned about the show coming back after a change over behind the scenes and a long break, but it still has my interest. It'll be interesting to see if the new guy ends up becoming the new show's equivalent of Ham Tyler...

The promo's up to new "V" episodes with her were great

"We of V hope you are enjoying the final season of "LOST" Survival of the fittest is an inherent instinct"

I voted excellent. I never thought I would say this, but I actually liked this better than tonight's Lost. This one definitely gave us some interesting new plot developments. I'm very curious to see if all of these things are going to be part of one big plot, or lots of little things.

Has anyone else noticed that this appears to have become to go to show for stars from other sci-fi shows? First we have Elizabeth Mitchel from Lost, Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk from Firefly, Joel Gretsch from The 4400,and Laura Vandervoort from Smallville, and now we have Lexa Doig from SG-1 and Andromeda, Nicholas Lea from X-Files and Kyle XY, and Rekha Sharma from BSG, and later this season, Michael Trucco (also from BSG) is coming in as a major new recurring character.

Think of it as "V" for Vancouver. Vancouver is basically the Hollywood for a lot of North American science fiction (and increasingly non-scifi) series. There are many reasons for this that I won't get into here, as many regular posters know them. The actors you named tend to pop up in shows set there with regular frequency (for instance, many of them have cross pollinated through the shows you cited), either as guest stars or regulars. It isn't all about Vancouver, though, as a lot of them have similar casting agencies or are recruited from within by casting directors familiar with their work.

I think you'll also find that a lot of the behind the scenes work features people from some of those other series, though I can't name any off hand. I'm certain there are writers from elsewhere in the genre working on V.

Basically, science fiction television is an insular world and Vancouverwood is one of its prime habitats.

When Valerie was looking at the mouse, was anyone else thinking: "Mousey..... here mousey..... "?

Wasn't that the point of the scene? They could have had her open up her fridge and star at a piece of raw steak or something.

BTW, the ratings dropped quite a bit. The last episode of V that aired on NBC before the 4 month hiatus was 9.2 million viewers(5.6 rating/9 share) 3.1 rating in 18-49 demo.

Last nights episode was 7.3 million viewers(4.5 rating/8 share) 2.9 rating in 18-49 demo

Not surprising with the whole airing 4 episodes and then disappearing thing. Just completely retarded since the first 4 episodes had a whole lot of boring in them and nothing really to make you go "Ooooh Oooh I can't wait to see what happens when it comes back." They need to learn from SyFy when it comes to mid-season cliffhangers
