Erica prepares the Fifth Column worldwide for a risky attack against Anna. A Live Aboard becomes a major obstacle to Anna's plan to destroy humans. Ryan attempts to rescue his daughter.

A very "meh" episode. More "war that isn't a war" going on, more reasons why if the rebel humans on the ground are the best we have then we've had a good run, but it's only outclassed by the Visitors themselves who seem not to avail themselves of their own incredible technology.

Oh, and Father Jack is terrible at everything. I continue to dislike his character based on the grounds that he's utterly, utterly useless.

Everything with the V's is mildly entertaining, everything with the 5th column is cliche and cringeworthy. Most of this episodes 5th column dialogue was horrible, which made me rethink again why I continue to watch this? Then Morena comes back on screen...

Her, Jane Badler, and Laura Vandervoort are now the only reasons I watch the show. The Fifth Column is anything but, the storyline has stayed in stage 1 mode and hasn't advanced, the characters are still one dimensional and poorly written, and the plot is usually craptacular. I liked this show when it first started, because I felt it had such great potential, but man, they have squandered that so fast. Oh, and the romantic twist that has taken on in this episode, yeah, saw it coming, and yeah, turns my stomach.

Oh, and once more, Father Jack is a douche.

So is V going to become one of those annoying shows that get more watchable right before it gets cancelled? I liked the emotional content of this episode, even tho the V's plan is looking sillier all the time. If all they need is human DNA, what's stopping them from good old fashioned alien abductions, rather than putting on a massive global dog & pony show?

I think they are going to kill off Tyler, given that they're setting up Erica as a repressed ice queen who won't admit that she's being far too ruthless. Father Jack is right, and is the guy she should be sleeping with instead (!!! :rommie:), but she won't get the message till Tyler's ugly demise.

Morris Chestnut seems to be fitting the role of Ryan better now. It's fun to think of him as Diana's son (and therefore Anna's brother) but I guess all the V's have to be related due to their insect hive society, and that Diana was a "better" queen (so she's not the same Diana as in the original show?)

Not the same Diana and yes it's going to be one of those shoes.

The dialog on this show is painful. Most of it is generic exposition. It's like on soap operas how they repeat the same things over and over again to people who already know everything they're being told and would be getting as tired of hearing it as we are.

No objections to shirtless Elizabeth Mitchell though.

Why is Anna wasting time with all this drama? It is obvious she is ruthless so why don't she just kill off everybody she don't need and then start her breeding on the planet and be done with it? It is obvious we can't fight them. If I was an alien power boss I would just invade, kill off those I dont need and start breeding instead of wasting time setting up health centers and having to make up lies.

I would just send in a few UFO's to abduct the right humans and steal their DNA. Yknow, like aliens are actually doing. Those guys are probably laughing their antennae off at this show.

I think that's Kinda Diana's point. If Anna was to use human Emotion with V "Perfection" she would make the decisions you expect her to. But, since she's remaining a Cold "computer-like" strategist, she has to go a step at a time, according to plan. <Or something like that  )

I ignored that whole scene. I found the idea of Erica being with Hobbes to be, well, distasteful. It's like she thought "This is the guy that has no problems killing anyone he deems necessary to reach his goals! I should be morally against...hey, nice abs...aw, fuck it."

Honestly I feel like week after week the two ABC shows airing back to back in No Ordinary Family and V are competing with each to see which team of writers can do the sloppiest job or deliver the most heavy-handed use of writing.

No Ordinary Family gives you something a week or two ago where a kid is shot because Jim deflected a bullet with his impervious skin and the kid got hit by the deflected bullet. Winds up in the hospital fighting for his life and at the end we find out he's going to survive and NOT ONLY THAT, but he had a tumor that never would have been found if they didn't have to open him up when he got shot... So the deflected bullet which shot him SAVED HIS LIFE!

This week on V we see the entire episode spent with Erica willing to sacrifice human lives for the greater good and carry out this potential suicide DNA bomber mission against the V's... which ultimately fails and GUESS WHAT? If this mission she took such drastic measures to carry through had succeeded her own son WOULD HAVE DIED! So the mission failing saved Tyler's life because if he doesn't get the missing DNA strand filled in he's going to spew out his internal organs.

OMG, so clever a twist right? The very thing she was trying so hard to carry through would have killed her own son!

I can picture the writing staffs for these two shows just sitting there shooting out ideas and patting each other on the back. "Wow, that's awesome!"

Anna: "Prepare my plan to post on TrekBBS."

Marcus: "If you respond to J. Allen's post and he responds to yours, it means you can respond back and you'll be in communication with each other. Your plan is going to work, my queen."

Anna: "Never underestimate the power of using words. It is the best way to communicate on a text-based message board."
