Heheh. True that.

Tyler has to be one of the most annoying, useless, and clueless characters in television history. I mean, his character literally brought nothing to the table.

A couple of random thoughts on the episode ...

Amie looks like a dark haired version of Jenny Beck. i was expecting her to say "Preta Na Ma"...though she did do a "starchild" type of miracle....though a bit more realisitc than The Final Battle.

It was good to see Marc Singer...even if only for a total of 90 seconds.

i wish the series would have been like the mini-series....introduce a number of characters, but kill several off over the course of the show. Anyone remember Ruby, the actress who became Ham Tyler's friend? That was the type of death we needed to see.

That line was gold. In his review, Matt Roush wrote there was one line he was waiting to write about and that was it.

great episode. finally, an end to Tyler. i'll be bummed if the show doesn't get to come back.

I missed some of it, who else died besides Dianna?
Tyler, Ryan,& Chad is as good as toast,
Kyle Hobbes
At least Tyler died as he lived . . . clueless.

:techman:

I hope it comes back in some form, they picked up the pace and intensity to night.
I'd like to see them develop the Project Ares story line.
though I was thinking thats Marc Singer's Lars Tremont was going to have the name Donovan some where in his name.

I have to admit, I loved the "That's how you kill your mother" line.

that was Epic.

There's no indication on Facebook that this was the series finale, so I dont know what some people are talking about.

Anyway, I don't often vote or comment on these weekly episode reviews, but I just wanted to say that was an excellent finale.

Diana is dead. Ryan dies at the hands (or tail) of his hybrid daughter. Tyler is gone. Chad will likely die soon. Now we know which characters won't be returning.

Ryan's daughter performs the bliss on humans. I mean what can stop the Visitors now from conquering Earth? I understood before why Anna couldn't do it and hadn't done it sooner, but I had to wonder why the 5th Column took so long to stage Lisa's kidnapping to get to Anna, which failed.

Erica becomes a part of a much bigger organization, and Marc Singer joins the cast!

Until next season, I am of peace, always.

For those of you who don't have Facebook or haven't read the update, here's what it says.

It's time for the Fifth Column to make their move tonight at 9|8c on ABC. This will be our final broadcast this season. We cannot wait any longer to act. Will you be joining Lisa and Erica in their efforts to overthrow Anna once and for all?

A rather underwhelming finale. The first half hour just dragged with no tension whatsoever.

At least they got rid of deadweight in terms of useless characters but I have to say Jane Badler was just wasted. The Queen Egg ideas was dumb. The big reveal of the V's true form was awkwardly handled. Marcus just decides to blurt out he betrayed Diana--are all the characters on this show morons? Anna needs a special strapless gown to Bliss the human civilization?!?

It was nice to finally see some of the V's advanced technolgy being used to filter the voices of the kidnappers when it has been absent for so much of the series.

This is just a really stupid show. Average.

I voted "Average". There wasn't much of a story. Just a brief, surprisingly simplistic setup for our heroes to fail and get everyone killed/captured. To me it seems like they are planning on going a different direction next season with the introduction of Singer's character and his secret organization, but if they don't get renewed next season then it'll just be another scifi series to add to the long list of sudden unresolved cancellations. Surface, Threshold, Flash Forward, Defying Gravity...........

Well my cable picked a good time to flip out on me. Most of the stations aired without problems, just not the ones that are free to watch.

I started watching it online via alternative means until I realized there were chunks missing from the episode by whoever uploaded it. The the painful dialog, mostly with unnecessary and repetitive exposition, that took place throughout the pre-title sequences was just too much for me. How can you tolerate any show with dialog that bad?

I watched all of season 1, watched the first episode of season 2, missed the rest of season 2 and tuned back in tonight just in time to see what was probably the best episode of the show to date.

A great bad-guys-win cliffhanger and almost no chance of a renewal.

Way to go out with a bang!

Well, Tyler's dead, YAY! That'll give Erica a little more to hate the visitors for in a third season, but killing Ryan and Diana, what's the point?

Without Ryan, or his long dead fiance Valerie, the Starchild plot line just got a little more pointless. And Diana, what a waste... ten episodes building her up and up, waiting for the payoff that she's ten times worse than Anna and... nothing!

But that said, at least this Season Finale was better than last years Red Sky shit!

If this is the series finale, it's a pretty good one. Shows what would really happen in the face of alien invasion: we lose.

Those were always some of my favorite episodes of the Showtime Outer Limits series because they would from time to time have episodes end with humanity bent-over.

If this is the series finale I'm not really bummed out about the show being gone. It's just something to watch and usually mock so I'm not attached to it. It also finally delivered and killed Tyler and it was only S2.

It's like if Smallville had Clark throw on the suit and cape and fly around at the end of S2 instead we're still waiting ;)

I really enjoyed it. The last few episodes have finally been moving things along and letting go of the dreck. I'd like to see it go to a S3, and hopoefully get a fresh start and be consistently good. I think if they do decide to give it one more shot, they're at a great new starting point.

Killing Diana, I think was a waste (Though what a great scene and line by Anna), but, Ryan and Tyler being killed off were a good thing. Jack probably could've gone too.

And what's up with Jack being Blissed, but, not Erica?

Erica was underground in the project's bunker, where it seems they were all shielded from the effect.

Everyone seems to think Chad is dead, but that was quite clearly left ambiguous. It can go either way. He's in a position that Anna can make use of him, if she wants, and I think she will. So unless the actor doesn't want to stay, I think Chad will still be around. Whether he'll still be Fifth Column, who knows.

I was actually surprised and stunned by Diana's death. That hasn't happened watching a TV show in a long time. Didn't think Ryan's daughter would snap his neck. Didn't really think they'd kill off Tyler. But the big one was Diana - and what a scene that was, and as said, the line from Anna to Lisa was truly epic.

True, when the transmission started, but, then she went outside, and circled Jack while he was still catatonic. In the past, when the Visitors have been Blissed, they stay catatonic while the Bliss is being transmitted, but, once the transmission completes, they are "feelin' groovy", but, no longer catatonic. That tells me, either Humans are more susceptible to Bliss, or, the transmission was still be sent, so Erica should've been affected, IMHO.
