V casting news

Hows'bout somethin'new'n'different'nstead aficionados?

Why reboot V:confused:

The original jumped over Fonzie's shark at the finale of Final Battle:brickwall:

That Star Kid crappola was wincingly horrible & unrealistic enough. Then there was the TV series:wtf::eek:

V: The Series, is like a "good" bad flick. Watchable & enjoyable, but NOT to take to heart.

1985 lulz was it:confused:

Morena Baccarin would make a good Diana or Anna...whatever. I think she could pull off the cold, queen bitch role very well.

If Robert Englund dosen't reprise his role as Willie and dumpster dive while calling out "Mousie!!!" I'm boycotting!

Willie wasn't the dumpster diver looking for "mousie", I don't think. IIRC is was just some generic no-name (drunk?) Visitor.

Watch again. :) Willie had been smoking pot with his terran buddy and gotten the munchies.

That wasn't Willie. I just watched it. Willie never hung out with Brian and smoked pot. It was a generic Visitor.

Now it's being reported that Elizabeth Mitchell has been cast in the V pilot (not as a regular).

They've also cast the male lead from "The 4400" and the actress who played Supergirl on "Smallville." (Their names escape me at the moment.)

This is turning into a who's who of genre actors . . . which is not a bad thing.

Joel Gretsch and Laura Vandervoort, respectively.

Indeed. Alan Tudyk is also in the cast.

^ Shades of the way the Stargate series have artfully cast actors from other popular genre shows, by the looks of it.

I like Tudyk a lot, Gretsch was fine in 4400. Vandervoort was easy on the eye. So my interest is growing.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Morena Baccarin will play the "Diana" role and be named Anna.

Uh-oh. Kiss this show goodbye in just five episodes. Firefly actors are complete jinx to any TV shows, new or existing!

I've been watching a lot of V lately. I'm about to get the complete series which I haven't seen since I was 10. I have to say that if Morena Baccarin is going to attempt to fill Jane Badler's... scales, she's going to have get a whole lot scarier. I mean looks wise Morena is an absolute fuck-goddess. A total piece of ass. Just like Jane Badler. But Badler was scarier. Kiss your ass and try to give yourself a blowjob before you go scary. I'd kill myself just to keep Badler's Diana from hurting me she was so scary. :D But Morena... not so scary. I mean worst case scenario with Baccarin is she'd try to fuck you to death and frankly... I ain't too scared of going that way.

As for Alan Tudyk in the cast... GOOD. FOR. THEM. One of the most talent working actors alive and he really has yet to be discovered by a mass audience. I have the feeling if this show hits his career is going to go through the roof. He could have a total Paul Giamatti thing going if he just gets the right project. I loved him on Firefly and other than Summer Glau he was the best thing in Serenity and... he was wonderful in I, Robot which Will Smith notwithstanding was a middling movie. I'm all for more Alan.

That practice is hardly unique to Stargate. There are actors who keep cropping up across multiple genre series in both live action and animation. Heroes has plenty of genre veterans as supporting players. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has Summer Glau and Heroes' Thomas Dekker as well as The 4400's Garrett Dillahunt. Dollhouse not only has Whedon vets Eliza Dushku and Amy Acker, but BSG's Tahmoh Penikett, The Matrix trilogy's Harry Lennix, and Journeyman's Reed Diamond. In animation, Justice League Unlimited had guest or recurring roles played by at least five Whedon veterans, as well as Trek veteran Jeffrey Combs, who was also in The 4400. And so on.

Holy frak! That's GREAT! :bolian:

Elizabeth Mitchell is also good news; but I'd heard she was a guest actor only. If she's in the main cast, that's more fodder for my tragic theory about what's about to happen on Lost. :(

Now when we bash or praise V, poor V will think we're talking about him. :D Remember, proper formatting is your friend!

You know, if there was a show where you could do two shows at once, it could be Lost. The seasons have been reduced to 16 episodes and the actors only appear in like 10 of them. Of course, there's the travel time to consider. Not quite like jumping from one lot to another.

This just in: Marc Singer has been cast as someone named Tom Zarek. :p
