USS Starblaster spaceframe

Here's the next one in line for development.

I don't know why I'm crankin' 'em out, I'm just on a roll.

If they call 'em "airframes" in the aviation industry, I guess this would be called a "spaceframe".

No engines yet, and I was thinking about taking something "off the shelf" from another project, but they didn't really work. I think it's a bit silly to have totally new warp nacelles for every new spaceframe. In fact, for "real-world" believability, it almost makes more sense for the nacelles to NOT match perfectly - they should look like General Electric or Pratt & Whitney has a basic line of engines for specific classes of spacecraft, and whoever "wins the contract" makes adjustments to fit the nacelles to the pylons. They should be congruent, but NOT look like they were made by the same designer. Well, except for maybe some cowlings and filleting and stuff...

And, I haven't even begun to figure out if this is a BIG ship or a SMALL ship. Heck, I'm still trying to decide if she's a'gonna be packing TWO warp nacelles, or FOUR!

A small update. I liked the idea of the bridge module being set WAAAY far back on the saucer.

Of course, while this creates an interesting visual, there needs to be a REASON for this gigantic schnozz on a starship. I was thinking of going with the "it has to do with the warp field dynamics" ploy, but that sounds so lame.

Maybe there's a pair of gigantic Fanboy Industries® turbo-phaser cannons up in there or something, to help the Federation battle Borgified tribbles or some such galactic menace.

-The middle of the saucer has a huge set of bay doors that swing open, and the whole saucer is a gigantic flight deck/ hangar.
-A needlessly huge arboretum
-Needlessly large crew spaces
-Fabrication/construction/machine shops
-Giganto science labs
-The aforementioned Wave Motion Phaser Cannons
-Warp dynamics

And last but not least, the best explanation when you run out explanations:

-Technology has been unbound, so I can make it look however the eff I want it to look.

I HAVE IT!

... It's a portable football field designed to bring SuperBowl CDXXX to the farthest reaches of the Galaxy..!

I like the bridge set back. On and off over the years I've been playing with a similar idea, where the bridge kind of emerges up from the dorsal, all integrated with the rear of the saucer. (Some actually had abysmal "star destroyer" looking bridges- sorry, yeah they were pretty awful) but I like where you're going with this, like to see some other views.

I like your use of scalloped edges in the layers. The more visual complexity, the better.

In terms of earlier designs, I had imagined saucers that expand top to bottom to form huge transporter tubes to beam asteroids, kaiju, etc ;)
