USS Kelvin Bridge Project

The Kelvin has always had a very special place in my heart, and a while ago, I tried to figure out a floorplan for the Kelvin's bridge. Now, with the real blueprints available, I thought it was time to 'graduate' and tackle this bridge in 3D.

Here's the first day of work:

Great start! The Kelvin bridge did a lot of things for me, being one of the most efficient uses of space we've seen on a Starfleet bridge. I just love those inner ring consoles and how they fill a lot of empty space on the classic TOS central area, that seemed only useful for the Captain to walk around, or more importantly for the TV crew to place cameras and lights. ;)

Some updates! Worked on the braces around the bridge. They're more detailed and more screen-accurate now.

And I started on some of the control panels at the one station. There is VERY little good reference for what the controls and screens look like up-close, so I'll be doing a lot of guesswork with those consoles.

Although I'm not a fan of JJ Trek, I did find the bridge of the Kelvin one of the very best sets. I look forward to following this. Awesome start! :-)

Looks awesome so far! Some of the nu-trek stuff is on my list of 3d projects to tackle too.
