I definitely see that in the shape of the secondary hull too.Is it just me, or does the teaser "Discovery" look like a cross between the MacQuarrieprise and the Chronology's Baton Rouge?

Just so I get this straight myself, wasn't the original concept created by Ken Adam, and the paintings based on those designs were done by Ralph McQuarrie.
If you look at Archer's NX-01 Enterprise on the one hand, and Pike's/Kirk's NCC-1701 Enterprise on the other hand, would the Discovery we see in the teaser somehow fit in the middle? Yes and no.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but NX-01 has impulse engines mounted on catamaran/wing thingies away from the saucer, so that's not too much of a leap. The swept-back nature of the nacelle-wings seems to dovetail with NX-01 as well. The texture of the Discovery's hull isn't quite NX-01, isn't quite Kelvin, and isn't "JJprise" or "TOSprise" either. It's off on its own, but it looks like it could be related.
Discovery's overall side profile looks a little too similar to TNG's Enterprise-D. Not identical, but the curves do remind me of it. Discovery's front profile looks plausible "front the neck up" but those nacelles and tub-like secondary hull don't look right at all. If NX-01, Kelvin, and Constitution all have cylindrical nacelles, so should Discovery. Again, too TNGish. I don't see why the main fuselage of the secondary hull couldn't be a rough cylinder. It wouldn't have to be just like Kelvin or Constitution. The nacelle-wings could simply join with the sides of the cylinder. And why can't Discovery have a hybrid dish like what Vektor did with his "prime alternative" Enterprise?
Of course, YMMV. There's nothing clearly defined here. We don't know the overall size of Discovery, her mission profile, or "when" and "how" Discovery is supposed to be a part of Star Trek. Time will tell.
The triangular hull is not unheard of in Earth/early Federation starships:

So it must have its merits to be used again in the Discovery. And we know it was used again in this configuration in the future.

I took a whack at the design a while ago:

Yes, but we've never seen the combination of a triangular hull with a saucer as a hero ship; only as a tiny background ship.
