USS Discovery - Cerberus?

Everyone has been using NuBSG as the comparison for Discovery being dark, but after ep 3 I think Mass Effect 2 is better analogy. With Michael = Shephard and Lorca = The Illusive Man.

Lorca is an ends justify the means character running morally questionable scientific experiments toward the goal of winning the war at all costs. Other than not being a human supremacist, that is what they seem to be going for.

Considering the type of propulsion technology they're experimenting with I'd laugh if we find out that Lorca is from the mirror universe, and he's trapped the one from our universe over there.

Agreed. So far it’s Battlestar Galactica 2003 + Mass Effect 2007 = Star Trek: Discovery 2017.

I have noticed Mass Effect qualities but assume they are coincidental.
