Poor soldiers, I mean, does the name "Bradley" ring a bell? or a certain aircraft that can't fire its gun because of the software not being developed AND burst into flames while sitting on the runway? Two or three "feauture" updates along the line and they all will be like a bunch of zombies..
Don't forget, the cheapest guy gets the contract, NOT the best guy.

When I think of "augmented human beings," I think of genetically-enhanced supermen like Khan Noonien Singh or even Captain America Steve Rogers with superior strength, agility, and endurance.

But cybernetic-augmented soldiers? I think of fail. It'd be better just to continue improving existing equipment and have new wearable gear like helmets with HUD visors rather than try to "jack" into people's brains with implants and stuff.
