UPN

All I remember is this god awful ad for the network before it even premiered. Could it be more '90s?

Oh man, I had to got to wikipedia to remember what was on that network.

Obligatorily I watched the Trek shows.

But I also watched Seven Days a bit. I liked it from what I recall. WWE SmackDown. Some of Malcolm & Eddie and The Hughleys, but it seems like I watched those in syndication. A little Jake 2.0.

I've watched some Moesha but a lot more of The Parkers (in syndication). Some of The Sentinel. I might have watched an episode or two of Veronica Mars.

Best show title ever was Shasta McNasty.

I would say the WB turned out a larger group of decent shows than UPN, though I'm sure many will disagree about individual shows. In fact, it was the WB dramas that largely survived the UPN/WB merger into the CW.

Here are the ones I enjoyed the most:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Dawson's Creek
Felicity
Gilmore Girls (survived into the CW)
Jack and Bobby
Supernatural (survived into the CW and still airing new episodes)
One Tree Hill (survived in the CW)

These shows either had their good moments or at least had decent fan-bases:

Everwood
Roswell
Popular
Charmed
Birds of Prey
Smallville (survived into the CW)

^ For awhile it seemed like the merger actually hurt both networks. But I agree that WB was more consistent. It also had the better kid shows, fwiw.

What I remember most is the commercials in which they would use the word "oopin" as a super cool way to pronounce UPN. The worst offender...

I think the only show I actually watched with regularity on UPN was America's Next Top Model (I hadn't discovered Trek yet).

While I don't remember that commercial, I think we can all agree we need to bring more 90s neon back into our lives.

Sadly, I'm trying to remember any UPN show I watched besides Voyager (occasionally) and Enterprise (regularly from the third season). I think I may have watched some syndicated stuff.

I watched Voyager, Enterprise, and Roswell.

I remember watching a handful of episodes of Seven Days, Special Unit 2, Haunted and some other horrible sci-fi shows. It wasn't a great network.

My recollection is that the UPN executives were the winners in the merger (despite the WB shows largely doing better and making the transition into the CW). I'm not surprised it took the CW a while to stabilize.
