  • Lorraine Anderson (Strange New Worlds)
  • Derek Tyler Attico (The Autobiography of Benjamin Sisko)
  • Christopher L. Bennett (Living Memory)
  • Greg Cox (Lost to Eternity)
  • Keith R.A. DeCandido (Articles of the Federation)
  • Kelli Fitzpatrick (Star Trek Adventures)
  • Michael Jan Friedman (Death in Winter)
  • Esther M. Friesner (To Storm Heaven)
  • David Gerrold ("The Trouble with Tribbles")
  • Robert Greenberger (A Time to Hate)
  • Glenn Hauman (Creative Couplings)
  • David Mack (Firewall)
  • Adeena Mignogna (Star Trek Explorer)
  • Robb Pearlman (Supernova)
  • Scott Pearson (editor, Pocket Books)
  • Aaron Rosenberg (Collective Hindsight)
  • Susan Shwartz (Vulcan's Forge)
  • Dayton Ward (Pliable Truths)
  • Howard Weinstein ("The Pirates of Orion")
In addition, actors James Frain (Discovery), Melissa Navia (Strange New Worlds); Stephanie Czajkowski (Picard), Tracee Cocco (The Next Generation), and Bonnie Gordon (Prodigy) will be present, as will visual effects artist Adam "Mojo" Lebowitz (Voyager) and veteran Trek comics artist JK Woodward (Through the Mirror).

I'll be doing a ton of programming and also have a table in the dealer room -- my full schedule is on my blog here -- and there will be book launches, tributes to fallen comrades (Peter David, Margaret Clark, Peter Morwood, Jeri Taylor), Boogie Knights concerts, and more!

Hope to see folks in Lancaster this weekend!

Any progress on getting a NYCC table, Mr. Mack and others?

I never had any intention of getting a table. I'm still waiting to hear whether NYCC 2025 will approve my application for a Professional membership, which will determine whether I’m able to take part in signing events for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Ring of Fire, which will be premiering the week of the con.

I'm on the waiting list for a table, as it turns out I rather stupidly forgot to fill out the application form in a timely manner. Hi, I'm a moron.

I will be there in some form or other, though -- if nothing else, I'll be doing promotional stuff at Blackstone's booth for Supernatural Crimes Unit: NYPD Book 1, which will launch in October.

Why in god's name wouldn't they give you a Professional membership (seeing as you are, in fact, a Professional)? Although I've run into that at Comic-Cons before too, not being granted a Pro badge even though I've worked at DC Comics for over 17 years.

As it turns out, my application was approved as of yesterday, and I’ve purchased my 4-Day Professional Badge, so I am looking forward to attending NYCC and signing brand-new copies of Ring of Fire. ;-)

This coming weekend is Dragon Con 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. This rather huge convention will have a ton of Trek related guests, including:
  • Kevin J. Anderson
  • Joe Corroney
  • John de Lancie
  • Keith R.A. DeCandido
  • Tom DeFalco
  • Oded Fehr
  • Dan Jolley
  • Christopher Lloyd
  • Scott Lobdell
  • Gates McFadden
  • Robert Duncan McNeill
  • John Jackson Miller
  • Simon Pegg
  • Robert Picardo
  • Tim Russ
  • William Shatner
  • Brent Spiner
  • Garrett Wang
  • Thom Zahler
(Esther Friesner was scheduled to be a guest, but she had to cancel, alas. There are guests named David Mack and Andrew Robinson, but they're not the ones you think of when you think of people connected to Star Trek.....)

You can find my schedule here, which includes two tributes to the late great Peter David, one on the comics track Saturday at 5.30pm with Kevin Anderson, Colleen Doran, Paul Jenkins, Norm Rapmund, Garrett Wang, and Peter's widow Kathleen O. David; and one on the Trek Track Monday at 2.30pm, which had been Peter's slot for "The Last Thing You Want to See at Dragon Con," with Kath. I'm also doing a panel on writing Trek fiction Monday at 10am with John Jackson Miller, Dan Jolley, and R. Alan Siler.

Hope to see folks there!

Mr. Mack, do you know your signing schedule? I just saw the exhibition list is up.

I do not. In all likelihood, I won’t know when the Simon & Schuster folks have scheduled me to sign until maybe a week before the convention, if I get that much advance notice. Note that I’m a professional attendee, not a featured guest or panelist, so my schedule won’t be part of that online resource provided by NYCC.

EDITED 9/17/2025 TO ADD:
I just got my signing time information from the Gallery Books publicity team. I will be signing new hardcover copies of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS – RING OF FIRE at New York Comic Con in the Simon & Schuster pavilion, Booth #3409, on Saturday, October 11, from 5PM to 5:45 PM.

If you buy copies of the book earlier in the convention, feel free to come back with them on Saturday to have them signed!

So it looks like I will be a late-addition bonus writer guest at the Warp 1 Starfury Events convention this weekend (October 10th-12th) at the Renaissance Hotel in Heathrow, London!

I'll be there alongside actors from Strange New Worlds, Deep Space Nine and Picard, and I'll be signing & selling books (including my latest SNW novel TOWARD THE NIGHT), talking about writing & more!

Event info here.

Hope you've enjoyed the event - your panel was really engaging. I was the Jem'hadar tonight ;)
