Unreleased/incomplete NEW VOYAGES productions

New Voyages over about 12 years releases 11 episodes and 3 vignettes, however it is well known that they have several unfinished/unreleased stories.

There's David Gerrold's incomplete 'Origins: The Protracted Man' episode, which JC was looking at possible completion, 'Bread and Savagery', which was placed on holds after the director sadly passed away, and 'Torment of Destiny' with an appearance by Richard Hatch. Now they are running the official set tour, NV seems to be not interested in completing these episodes anymore. I understand there may be legal complications with their contract with CBS, but it is a pity these shows may never see the light of day.

In the early days there were also some vignettes that were not finished, apparantly due to their low quality, including Chain of Command in which Pike handed over to Kirk, however of course the Origins episodes over-wrote that.

Not to mention many announced but unmade episodes over the years (The Sky Above and the WORLD Below, The Sky Above and the MUDD Below (two different ideas), Kilkenny Cats, Troublesome Minds, Rest and Retaliaton, among several others - yes since Day 1 I followed this project VERY closely!), plus a pitched 'lower decks' spin-off called First Voyages!!

No offense, but this has been mentioned in numerous threads over the last few years. Is there a point to starting a new thread?

I recall the late GSchnitzer indicating the the set-tour deal precluded the completion of any further films, but it would be nice if James Cawley would make an official statement about this and put the rumors to rest one way or another.

I thought you weren't allowed to revive old threads here? And I thought I'd try and keep up to date :)
I can appreciate holding out hope for these films (I do too), but we've already debated, examined, kvetched AND implored the gods about a half dozen times...I really fail to see at this point what else can be added except another turn at the merry-go-round...

Maybe if the set tour closes in several years time they can be revisited? If not by Cawley then someone else? Maybe the footage will end up in different hands. Things change in time, minds change

My understanding of what James said, was because he was in the 2009 movie, that precluded him from releasing any more fan films.

To my knowledge his official stance is "we ARE working on the unreleased stuff folks donated for, but very slowly as we have time."
So, I wouldn't really expect it to ever see the light of day.

Its not rules related. He gave up on finishing any of these films well before the fan film shit hit the fan. Don't anyone hold their breath. He'll never let any one else edit or change anything. He's scrapped entire filmed projects and started from scratch for very petty reasons in the past. None of this stuff will ever see the light of day.

Pony Horton has released a 3 part documentary on the Origins shoot! Includes a sickbay scene with Kirk and Son as well as a bridge shoot with Pike and co
