I have been trying to get 4hr wages owned to me from a agency for the past two months with no luck I was wondering if anyone here has had any trouble in the past getting paid and how they went about sorting it.

Just take something equal to what they owe you. Hold it in lue of payment.
Keep pestering them and, as Holdfast said, if they don't respond you can take them to county court. Good luck with it.

I once had the opposite problem. I was doing temp work and the temp agency gave me an extra weeks pay. I went to them and told them I would keep the money in the bank until they worked out how much money I had to pay back. They couldn't tell me straight away as tax had been taken out at a higher rate. They told me they would let me know as soon as their accountant had looked at the error.
Meanwhile they had charged the place I worked with for the wrong hours. The boss instead of contacting the temp agency phoned me and demanded the money back. I told him that I was paying the temp agency as they were my employer not him. He threatened me with the police.
When I told the temp agency about this they were apologetic and said that they would handle him. A few days later I returned the money to them (after I made sure they had corrected all the paperwork).
