Does anyone think that we will see the Starfleet Academy uniforms in the movie? (Has the appearance of Starfleet Academy been confirmed?)

We have seen the Starfleet Academy uniforms. They are all grey with *GASP* h a t s which are C a n o n tm.

Yep. Pike had a grey hat in "The Cage". Starfleet officer's uniforms were not grey. Cadet uniforms were grey. Therefore the Star Trek XI grey uniforms with grey "The Cage" hats are the cadet uniforms.

The hat on Pike's desk on "The Cage" pilot. We never saw any cadets, but it's a safe bet to guess Abrams is drawing on that hat for his cadet uniforms.

Yeah, this is why I don't buy the grey cadet theory- besides his red uniform didn't have an insignia on the chest whereas the grey clad chick did. The lack of insignia made me think that was the cadet uniform and the grey one with the chest insignia was a regular duty uniform.

That is what I am thinking, too. I saw the insignia, and the last time I checked, cadets didn't wear Enterprise exclusive stuff I think the red uniform is the cadet and/or the command training uniform.

Grey could be the standard Cadet Uniform, where as the Red could be for graduation in your chosen speciality:

Medical/Science - Command - Engineering/Security

Not to nitpick, but then how come Kirk (and supposedly Spock) is wearing red? Wouldn't he wear gold? Wouldn't Spock wear blue?

Jim Kirk wears red in Star Trek Xi because he was in security before taking command of Enterprise. :thumbsup:

What pic shows Quinto as Spock in a red Starfleet officer's uniform?

It was mentioned on trekmovie.com that in that scene Quinto was there, too wearing a red uniform.

The one time we saw a TOS cadet uniform was in "Shore Leave" and it was worn by Finnegan. It was grey/silver. No color depending on your major. This didn't happen until TNG's episode #66- "Allegiance". :thumbsup:
