Is it just me...or does Kirk seem to be plotting something?

Maybe he knows that someones about to kick a soccer ball in their direction... McCoy is protecting himself already.

Are you both done criticizing someone with obvious talent?

Maybe you'd like to show us the better job YOU can do?

^ They're just joking, aren't they? I'm sure they don't want to criticize data's_cat_spot's work. Kirk's gesture really does remind me of the archetype movie gangster who's plotting a plan. How come you can't like these pictures AND make some jokes about them? I'm sure data's_cat_spot won't be offended. I can't speak for him though.

Superman, it sure seemed like normal joking around to me.

Re: Unofficial Trek XI Uniform Concept Art by data's_ cat_sp

They don't use pockets in TOS. That's one of the really great things. Phasers and communicators just stuck where they were placed on the uniform or belt. Sure it was really velcro, but onscreen they just stuck there. No pockets. Pockets are so 21rst century.

Couldn't tell if it was joking or not.

Sorry...I'm a testy kinda guy.

Those are fantastic illustrations! I'm really impressed with them all. The group shot is really fun to look at. As all are!

Yeah, it's all good. Isn't Kirk always plotting really? Granted it usually has to do with some chick he's trying to bed... Really though it's all in good fun.

Lighten up Francis. Of all the things in the world get your panties in a bunch over, a joke about the hand placement in a piece of artwork for possible but not likely future Star Trek movie uniforms isn't one of them

Re: Unofficial Trek XI Uniform Concept Art by data's_ cat_sp

They are nice looking. I agree with one of the first posters that the piping on the pants/ skirts seems a little superfluous. The zippers are practical, though maybe if they were a little less pronounced, like inset within folds of the fabric... But I just don't like to see zippers on any clothing.

You don't wear Jeans or jackets or...?

Name's not Francis, Steve.

And the fact is, I find it worthwhile to get upset if someone is mocking another person's work simply because it's "safe" to do on "teh Internets."

Enough of this. From everyone.
The matter has been resolved and the creator of the work (very neat work by the way) understood no harm was meant.

Jeans have that little flappy thing covering the zipper.

I can't tell if you are kidding or not. Though I suppose I could have been more Specific in my statement that I don't like zippers. I don't like zippers being shown on clothing.

My pants have zippers- they are covered by a flap.

The tunics on TOS had zippers- they were hidden in folds of the fabric.

My jackets have zippers- they are hidden by flaps and folds.

It's purely for looks in most cases because zippers look ugly. But it's also somewhat practical as zippers can snag. You also won't see many zippers being shown in military uniforms.

Re: Unofficial Trek XI Uniform Concept Art by data's_ cat_sp

^^^Logical points all about zippers.

I just wonder how dcs would have showed these zippers off (a point he was clearly trying to make with including them) if they were hidden by flaps.
