Unofficial Trek XI Uniform Concept Art by data's_ cat_spot

[Superman]

The following images were created by the extremely talented TrekBBS member data's cat spot.

He didn't have enough posts to put the images up here, so I offered to do so for him.

I think these are a perfect updating of the TOS uniforms, and if the uniforms Cawley saw and said were "perfect" are anything like these, I'll be thrilled.

The only thing I'm not sold on is the piping on the pants/skirt, but otherwise, I think these are absolutely brilliant.

I love that these designs make the tunics look more practical and look like actual uniforms. I also like the inclusion of pockets, which I think would continue to be used in the 23rd century.

The shoulder patch is something that I also think ties in to real-world militaries, and Abrams has repeatedly stated he wants to evoke realism in his new vision of Trek.

Seeing these makes me even more anxious to see the new uniforms...

See, now this stuff is awesome! If something similar to this shows up in the movie, I'm all for it. No bitching or complaining. None of this "Wait! Zippers are not canon! Must be VELCRO. OMG! Boycott! Picket!" --Glass shatters as fanboy screams and jumps out window.

^^^I know what you're referring to, but I imagine they'll still use velcro on the belts, maybe under the tunics, like in TOS.

Of course, I always assumed the velcro was supposed to be some sort of magnetic adhesion patch or something...

Agreed, this is some top-notch design. Put a toolbelt on Scotty and they're perfect!

The assignment patch on McCoy, it's kind of hard for me to tell, but is that a caduceus, rather than the Regular Enterprise assignment emblem? Just curious.

Yes, these are nice, however we don't have any indication they will be.
I remember before ENT started talented people posted here and get our hopes up, but then real designs on stuff kicked in and we were disappointed.

I'd rather this not happening again, so I'll assume the worst and hope for the best for this movie.

I really like these designs. The inclusion of the wrap for Kirk is also a nice touch, as is the department trim on the slacks.

Very nicely done! If the actual movie uniforms are anywhere like this, this movie is going to look great. I never understood the pocketless uniforms either. The Enterprise series did many things wrong, but I liked how practical the uniforms looked compared to what we saw in the 23rd and 24th centuries.

Nice job! Very nice meshing of 22nd century Archer-era styling with 23rd century coloring and sensibilities. If only the final movie costumes would look this good, we'll be lucky.
