unfinished reading

As for Titan as a whole, it has indeed had its ups and downs sofar. I'm not a big fan of the works of Michael Martin and Andy Mangels. They just don't captivate me as much with their writing style, even though the stories themselves are more then interesting to me.

Mangels and Martin are indeed a phenomenon. I absolutely love their Sulu-Books "The Sundered" and "Forged in Fire", both among my all-time-favourites. Their Titan-Novels are also quite good. But I can't stand their Enterprise-novels, despite the fact that I liked the show. They started slow and boring with Last full Measure and it's got worse with each new book.

What surprises me a bit, are the negative reactions for the Typhon-Pact-Books. Somehow it seems, that I'm the only who liked all four of them.

I enjoyed all of the Typhon-Pact books. I'm not sure why most people on here dislike them.

I've been struggling with my first Titan book, Seize the Fire. I've never been all that keen on the Titan series, but got this one with the other 3 Pact books. I've read 6 other books while working on this one. I've finally hit a point where the end is in sight though, I'm just over 100 pages from the end! Yay!

If you're going to start reading Titan, that's the absolute worst book to start with - it's by far the worst of the series (at least, IMHO.) Don't judge the rest of the series by Seize the Fire.

I started the first book in the series, enjoyed it, but had to return it to the library.

Part of my dislike is that I just don't really find myself all that interested in most of the characters. Not sure why, but prefer some of the other series instead.

I also liked them, and also don't know why people don't. Same with Before Dishonor. I admit it has flaws, but nobody's perfect(alas, not even PAD).

The Needs of the Many and Beneath the Raptor's Wing were quite tedious to read, but thats because of Martin's political views in which he rams it down your throat in both books. He toned it down in Seize the Fire, but that book was quite boring.

Yeah, that's the writing in that particular book. Those characters are not the same deep, interesting characters with the same names that appear in the other books. Seriously.

Update: Just finished Paths of Disharmony. I want to thank the OP for inspiring me to finish because it seemed like it spurred me to push on with the book, as did Mage's sage advice. Like Mage's adage, the book did get better as I went further along, though it took about 300 pages to really get interesting to me.
