Underworld #4 - Beckinsale in 3D?

I have not seen any of these movies. I did some reading about the series online and it looks interesting. I understand the third movies is a prequel. Should I begin with that movie or start with the first?

The prequel was fun, but the first of the Underworld films gives all the information about the start of the Vampire/Lycan war you need. This new film, set years ahead of the second, sounds like you could start there without all that much trouble. However, I would say start with 1 and 2, if you feel you'd be more comfortable before jumping into 4.

The movie actually opened last night over here, I was just too tired to go. I'll probably go see it sometime during the weekend.

The local omniplex is showing it at awkward times, and it's always too busy at weekends, I'll try and see it before or around Monday.

Thanks for the info! :techman:

I'm scheduled to see it with a few friends Saturday at 5pm. I may go tonight anyway, it's my first got to see it movie of the year.

Hmm, here in town it's 2D only, only late showings, hitting the weekend rush. Or Belfast has 3D, afternoon showings, Monday onwards, guess I know which one to go to now. :D

Kate has done Letterman, Conan and now Chelsea Lately to promote Underworld Awakening which opens today!!

I want to do more comedy but everyone keeps handing me a fu$%ing machine gun.

My car will be in the shop tomorrow for a few hours, so the wife and I may try to catch it at the movieplex down the block..

Kate at the premiere of the movie earlier this week.

Whenever I have an Underworld marathon, I can't help but watch the 3rd one first, just to keep things chronological timeline-wise. Sure, Sonja in the Underworld flashbacks in don't match Lycans, but hopefully that'll be rectified in a future edition. (As of the Lycans audio commentary, I believe they were already working on that)

Watched RotL today and watching the other two over the weekend.

^They did mention when the four film Blu Ray set is released later this year that they'd be using the footage from RotL and the extended original to make a new print of the first film for it.

well saw UA4 fantastic movie great story good action, make sure you sit through the credit.

There was nothing at the end of our credits? I sat there till the lights came on.
Spoiler code what it is your referring to please.

I saw it this afternoon it was... okay. I swear the scenes inside the building could've driven me to seizures if I was prone to them through flashing lights. (How useful is that to have operating rooms and hallways filled with flashing lights?!)

The action in it was pretty good, Beckinsale looked good story was... Meh. But I've only seen the first one, a long time ago in the theaters and never saw the sequels. I wasn't lost as far as the story goes.

One thing that was annoying was how many "for 3D!" shots there were in the movie of things obviously being thrown into/at the camera or things passing between the camera and the movie itself, there were just a lot of times where it was obvious things were meant to be seen in 3D. I sort of wish movies would stop doing that bullshit and have it possible to be viewed in either format.

Otherwise it just looks stupid when grenade pins, and blood splatter is being tossed into the camera.

Beckinsale looked great so that's enough for me but the overall story and execution struck me as very Sci-Fi Saturday Night Movie material.

Saw it yesterday with the gang. We only had the choice of 3d locally so naturally it cost a bit more.

Decent flick in my opinion:)

It was a good movie but I'm not sure how to rank it against the first three, which had such an intricate storyline with so many characters... this felt much more bare and straightforward. Actually it felt just like a Resident Evil movie. I did like the Super Lycan though.
