Underworld #4 - Beckinsale in 3D?

I read in the paper this weekend that Michael Sheen would also be back for the new film. Obviously Lucian's presence would have to be via flashback, something along the lines of what we saw at the beginning of Evolution. Perhaps this is how we could learn more about his and Kraven's pact -- assuming Shane Brolly also returns.

Well, its still a little uncertain as to Lucian being dead, I mean Michael was for several hours and he "got better", even if Lucian only had 2 parts of the hybrid mixture it could mean he's alive. But yes it probably will be flashbacks, Selene still has to contact the existing packs and covens.

what could be better than Beckinsale in skin tight leather in 3d? nothing. nothing at all.

Michael was a direct descendant of the Corvinus bloodline, though. Lucian wasn't.

Either way, it'll be cool having him back. Lucian and Viktor are the series' best characters.

Wow, that is pretty cool that Beckinsale is coming back. I didn't think that she would have any interest in returning to that role.

The Underworld movies are a guilty pleasure of mine so I look forward to seeing a continuation of the series.

She wanted out of the third one specifically, since it would have meant too much work with the timelines finding a story that suited her and Lucians pasts, but the series proper I think shes ok with.

Or maybe she just wanted a break? Or was booked for something else at the time?

(This is just pure speculation on my part. I have absolutely no inside info on the subject.)
Are you doing the novelization?

production in March 2011. Release date January 20, 2012

You may not know the names Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein if you’re not (a) Swedish or (b) in the UK. The pair have made, among other things, the Swedish thriller Storm (2005), and the thriller Shelter (2009)

Now the pair are negotiating a deal to direct what is being referred to in trades as Underworld 4.
We’ve heard that Seline will have a daughter in this film, which is likely to be given a title other than Underworld 4. It’s also a fairly safe bet that the film will be shot in 3D, but we don’t have confirmation on that point yet.
THR says the film is set to shoot in March 2011 in Vancouver with (as we knew) Kate Beckinsale returning as Selene.
A January 20, 2012 release is planned.

Re: Underworld: New Dawn - in 3D

Filming has begun and the first shot of Kate back as Selene has emerged!

I find it funny the caption on the site spelled it Selena.

Michael Ealy has been cast as, it seems, an important co-star in the film.
He'll play a detective in the film that is hunting Selene, says Deadline. However, he'll ultimately team up with her to take on a new threat.
Can't say I recall much about him despite having seen at least two movies listed in his credits. Didn't leave an impression with me. Anyone got a solid thought on him?

^ His name doesn't ring any bells for me.

Great to see photographic evidence that the new film is finally underway. Can't wait! :D

Michael Ealy was on FlashForward (as the black guy who DIDN'T commit suicide and had a few secrets of his own). I guess he's a good actor, but I haven't really seen anything from him.

I like Ealy. I also like that they are continuing the story instead of doing another prequel. And the daughter angle is a logical progression. It keeps Underworld's protagonist female for potentially a new round of films post-Selene.

For me, the first time I saw him was in Sleeper Cell. In that, I thought he was a good actor:)

Nice to hear Ealy seems to have made a positive impact. Always nice to have an actor who isn't too wooden or just playing the beats. I'm curious to see what he brings to the role and the franchise since he'll essentially be teaming up with Selene as the movie runs it's course.

The actor they had as Beckinsale's co-lead in the first two movies wasn't very good, I seem to recall. I don't even know his name but IMO he prevented the movies from being much better than they should have been. I thought she wasn't interested in making another one. I like her boots.

Can't say. His only listing on IMDB that I've seen has been Kissing Jessica Stein (and I can't say I was paying a whole lot of attention to the men in that movie). In one photo, I thought he was the guy that plays the black sargeant with anger management issues on Stargate Universe.

^
We don't all look alike you know:). Ealy and Jamil Smith look nothing alike. The only military role I know Ealy portrayed was in Miracle at St. Anna.

^Eh, I think it's just my brain's desperate attempt to connect him with something I've seen recently because Ealy's name sounds so familiar that I don't understand how I could have seen him in nearly nothing!

Re: Underworld: New Dawn - in 3D?

Even though they've been shooting for a few weeks now the official press announcement just went out.

Kate Beckinsale returns as vampire warrioress Selene who "escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species."

Two further actors amongst the cast have been revealed. "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" star India Eisley will play a character called Eve, while "Barbershop" star Michael Ealy has been cast as Detective Sebastian.
We of course knew about Ealy already but India Eisley is news to me. I'm guessing she is playing the daughter role to Kate's Selene.

I wonder what circumstances have Selene imprisoned initially. Obviously a significant chunk of time has passed since Evolution, which ended on an uncertain yet hopeful note.
