Uncharted 2 is crazy brilliant amazing [insert gush]

^ Well me and Aragorn are nine hours apart, so there aren't a lot of times during the week when we can both play.

Anyone else having this problem, I can't go back and play earlier chapters. I can start new games from the start, but can't replay favorite parts. Any help?

I'm fairly new to gaming, but most of the games I've played, you can go back and replay chapters you've completed. I'm sensing that is not the case here, and I have to play the game through before I can go back and replay earlier stuff. Is this true? If so, that kinda sucks.

^ Yes that's true, you can't replay previous chapters until you beat the game. That's just how it is.

Wouldn't that kill the narrative to replay the same level mid-game the first time around?

Sometimes, like when I get stuck at a certain point, I enjoy replaying earlier chapters, where I know what I'm suppose to do and go. I've found a way around this though. I start a new game, and every time I get to a place I might want to replay, I save game. Now I've got about 6 games all saved at different favorite spots.

Haven't read ANY of this thread yet, but I wasn't terribly impressed with Uncharted 1 which I just finished for the first time. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game but not even close to the console-defining spoogefest nearly everyone made it out to be--PS3 owners must've been starved for quality games when this one came out for it to receive such an ovation. There was a gigantic disconnect between tomb raiding FANTASTIC environments (which I loved) and the gunplay (which turned Nathan Drake into a damn serial killer)--I agree with all the complaints that this game felt as much like Gears of War as it did Tomb Raider. I tend to play games for their story and it very much succeeded on that front--Drake's a genuinely funny character and this game out Indy'd the last Indiana Jones movie by a massive margin, which saved it for me.

Just popped in Uncharted 2 and played through the first chapter and a half or so. This is the PS3 first game I've seen that looks like it's well beyond what the 360 can pull off. Holy crap this game looks amazing. I'm not going to read earlier posts in this thread to avoid spoilage, but I hope they somehow managed to balance the game's different elements a bit better to go with these amazing visuals.

Recently good a 2nd hand version and gave it a whirl...fantastic looking game. After my first walk around the Tibetan village I wanted to live there it looked so beautiful. Fun too. I'd just finished MGS4 just before so I was in the zone for cover/stealth/sneak/gun play game. Felt a lot shorter then MGS4 but that is probably because MSG4 hit you with 30 min cutscenes every 1 or 2 hours of gameplay, which made it seem very long.

The story and characters were fun. Haven't played the first game so that's next on my list.

i played it with everybody saying its amazing but it jsut seemed thsame thing over and over with just different sceneary. i didnt feel teh spark when playing like i did when i play games like Arkham Asylum and God of War 3

I completed the game, very cool, but still can not replay chapters. In fact, after I finished the game, it reset back to the beginning, stating 1% complete. I got to keep my trophies and treasure, but have to start from the beginning. Frustrating, as the booklet states you CAN replay completed chapters. Any suggestions as to what's going on here?

That definitely sounds like a bug of some sort... no clue what you can do to fix it. Maybe you can delete the game data (not the save file) and try repatching the game?
