Tell me about it! I really had to work not to change the OP and make it a top twenty or twenty-five!

1. "The Doomsday Machine" - TOS

7. "Visit to a Weird Planet Revisited" - LIT

Oh, I love that story and have always remembered it. I recall that the forward said it was the companion piece to an earlier story called "Visit to a Weird Planet", which had Kirk, Spock and McCoy beaming into the TV studio where Star Trek was being filmed, having jumped parallel universes, but I never could get my hands on it. Is it running around the web somewhere?

The only place I ever saw it before 3 minutes ago (a quick search of the Fanlore site turned it up) was in Spockanalia #3 (one of the earliest Star Trek fanzines, published in the late '60s).

There are usually Spockanalia issues around on eBay. There were only 5 issues published, and as you might expect they contain a lot of Vulcan-centric material that is very likely out of date now, due to being superseded by the later TV shows, movies, etc. It's quite interesting, though, and a nice slice of early Star Trek fandom.

But I just found this story online here.

In no particular order...

Measure of a Man. TNG S02E09.

Who Watches the Watchers. TNG S03E04.

The Wounded. TNG S04E12.

Darmok. TNG S05E02.

The Magnificent Ferengi. DS9 S06E10.

Far Beyond the Stars. DS9 S06E13.

In the Pale Moon Light. DS9 S06E19.

Meld. VOY S02E16.

Author, Author. VOY S07E20.

Andorian Incident. ENT S01E07.

Lol! Me too, except for The Magnificent Ferengi. I'd go for Looking for Par'Mach in All the Wrong Places.

Oh man, some of the things that made it on your list make me smile. Specifically the fact that ID and NEM are on there. Liking those movies sometimes gets me some real cold hard stares, especially NEM (since if I ever want positive reinforcement on my enjoyment of ID, I can just chat in vague terms with the friends I have who are only familiar with nuTrek, and merely as popcorn fare).

Looking for Looking for Par'Mach in All the Wrong Places.

Another terrific episode. DS9 did its characters some serious justice.

Getting started on my top 738 episodes and films... but it might take a while to rate the whole range of novels, short stories, games, and comics from the beginning.

My experience with Trek beyond its cinematic form is perilously inadequate. I fully intend to remedy that this time around. (I rewatch the bulk of the shows every 4-5 years, always with that thought in mind. This time my rewatch has been more thorough than ever, including shows/films I haven't thrown into the blender since initial airing and whatnot, so I'm all the more prepped and ready for it.)

I identify myself as a bit of a gamer (mostly story-driven stuff, though) but the only Trek game I've ever gotten to spend much time with was Birth of the Federation. Lovely 4X-genre title, that one. I'd probably include it by the time my list hit 60 or so.

I've read a total of about 15 Trek books, meaning I've got so very much ahead of me. I'm really looking forward to it.

If you are into board games at all, I would highly recommend Fleet Captains. The common consensus among reviews is that it is "a season of Star Trek in a box." Considering the number of miniatures that it comes with, it's a decent price.
