UK Cenus 2011 - Whats your religion?

Up and the down the country, people are filling in the UK Cenus, which comes around once every decade and I have just done mine and of course I had to have a little joke with the government and put down as my religion...

TIMELORD :p

I think last time the craze was Jedi (390,000 aka 0.8% of the UK population) but I hear quite a few people are going to put TimeLords down this time so thought I would join in the fun ;)

So my fellow UK members what did you put in your Cenus ?

I boringly put Christian.

I notice how they ask about overnight visitors on the 27th March on the form. Are we expected to wait till then to send it off? I wonder how many of my fellow students will have a one-stand on that date just so they can brag to HM Government. :bolian: (Although, I doubt many of them will fill it in anyway.)

My husband suggested we write "We look for things that make us go". I'm very tempted.

I fill out the damn thing as quickly as possible (thank god for the online version this time round, which rapidly skips you past the irrelevant portions) without really paying much attention, so I can't actually remember what I clicked. Probably Christian, but if it was an optional question (I have a vague sense that it was, now I think of it), I may have just skipped it.

I have to say, the online system was really quick and the overall form seemed shorter as a result. Only took a few minutes max to fill in, which is actually about the limit of my patience for a government-mandated form, so I was impressed by that. I'm pretty sure that there were fewer questions than last time, though, as well.

Yes, the Census is supposed to reflect the occupancy of every house in the UK on the 27 March 2011.

...which is illegal. ;)

I live with my parents, who will list me as Christian, even though I'm an Atheist.

I'd say to people trying to "screw religion" or whatever by just putting something stupid, you're probably just doing the opposite, and thus taking more "votes" as it were away from what you should put- No Religion

Also I never understand people putting Jedi, how is Jedi a religion? As Wiki says...
The Jedi are characters in the Star Wars universe and the series' main protagonists. They use a power known as the Force, and weapons called lightsabers that emit a controlled energy flow in the shape of a sword, to serve and protect the Republic and the whole galaxy from conflict or government instability. They sometimes moderate peace negotiations between planets and, if necessary, use their formidable fighting skills to quickly end unrest. The Jedi are led by a Council of 12 members consisting of the most powerful and wise members of the order. The Jedi are bound to a code of morality and justice and are trained in the use of the light side of the force but not the Dark side.
That's more of an order that a religion. They're not exactly portrayed in the movies/Clone Wars as a religious group as you would expect one. Put 'The Force' if you want I suppose. Sorry to be very geeky but I just think putting Jedi doesn't make sense

Lords of Kobol. Or Anla'Shok.

It's sad the NZ census got cancelled due to the earthquake in Christchurch. Mainly because around 100,000 people got displaced, lost their papers - in houses that got trashed or red stickered - or simply the snapshot wouldn't have been representative of life in the region. Many questions like 'what do you do for a living', 'where do you work' and 'if you don't work and had it been available would you have taken it' were deemed too offensive for those that had lost their jobs when their work places were destroyed.

Questions like 'how many people are in your dwelling right now' got the boot too - most people in ChCh were living in tents of a dozen people, or stadiums with a few hundred other people... :(

I was toying with the idea of putting "Cthulhu worshipper", but I reckon I'll end up being boring and going with "Atheist".

Last time I put Jedi cos that was the meme then, (that's why so many people did it, but it's an old gag now so I can't see it getting the same response this time) and so I was tempted to put Sith this time, but really I'm trying to think of a funnier answer that covers the truth (i.e. spiritual but not religious - I have no qualms with any god, just with their fan clubs)... "Disorganized" perhaps, or "no thanks, I'm trying to give them up"
