Ugly but useful ship design?

In the most recent Trek movie, there was a ship design that looked like a four-nacelled design from a distance. Upon closer inspection, this USS Newton reminds me of the USS Proxima from Star Trek: Legacy, which was ugly but useful. It is odd to have on the rollbar the ship's warp nacelles and not the engineering hulls. Maybe someone can make this small change and switch the hulls and nacelles?

Likewise, the supposed homage to the Miranda, the USS Armstrong, looks odd having a third nacelle and not an engineering hull. Takers?

Based on the above, is anyone also interested in toying around with a kitbash ship design that has as many as five major cylinders (Newton + Armstrong)? These cylinders are, of course, warp nacelles or engineering hulls. The ship itself can function like the reserve Federation-class Dreadnought from the Star Fleet Technical Manual.

Madman1701 is the resident specialist in JJtrek. Look up his webpage for a nice collection of designs.
