U.S.S. Excelsior Model Composite Art

Yeah! How much of that surface detail is paint and how much is decals?

Since you asked Alex...
This model was originally built about 20 years ago and then redone about 5 years ago using DLM parts for the photorp launchers and DLM decals for the windows and blue paneling. The French blue and light grey warp engine covers and black wraparound warp grills were airbrushed with Testors enamels as were the bridge details and steel details above the impulse engine deck. The dorsal was airbrushed titanium. The deflector tunnel and stern shuttle bay doors were airbrushed steel. The model was given a rub down with model wax and lightly sprayed with transparent gloss pearl lacquer prior to decaling. Testors clear gloss and clear satin lacquer were sprayed on from rattle cans for the final finish.
