Its that I'm not capable of doing 3D stuff else I would try and make a space going East Indiaman with a very ship like hull...

As in a modern trekship inspired by such a boathull/design? Or one of those somewhat cheesy images of a wooden sailing ship in space? :P

I'm all for the first idea, and I'm totally against the second because there are too many already!

I indeed was talking about a modern trek design with a single boat hull shape, kinda like a modern version of the Sydney class which also looks quite boat-ish.

As for wooden hulled spaceships, I do like Stone Trek but thats it.

That's some nice work... I actually wasn't sure that, initially, if I was looking at a real room (redressed) or a CGI set. (It was really the fruit in the bowl that gave it away. )
