I just ordered this book from 2018. "Typeset in the Future: Typography and Design in Science Fiction Movies" (2018) by Dave Addey. Includes sections about typography in "Star Trek", both the original series and "The Motion Picture" and has an interview with Michael Okuda. Thanks to Jason Vivona for drawing it to my attention. I got the book when it came out, as a fan of the original website (gotta love a post that figures out what was going on in the zoom-and-enhance scene in Blade Runner). I was a teeny bit disappointed in the TMP section of the book, if only because I was hoping for more than a glancing mention of Lee Cole's icon system, at least a nice chart as with the brief discussion of Alien's "Semiotic Standard." I guess I'll have to track down a copy of the sticker book and do it myself someday.
I followed the original blog, and picked up the book at Rob Sawyer's recommendation. Not bad, as far as it went.
