Well it was mentioned in the OP. Anyway, I'm a "whatever" on this casting. I don't know from Perry one way or the other.

... being old, I'd no idea who this guy was either. Looking at his bio he's some giant ball of talent - acting, writing, directing. And apparently he practically brings a whole load of fans with him... Cinematical wrote about the news as if this casting could tip the audience to impressive numbers.

This is yet more impressive casting, I reckon.

Ive not seen any of his work, he isn't big in the UK. He does have a good following and hes never acted in anything that he hasn't written and directed, so he must be a Trek fan.

Can only be a good thing for Trek XI.

Military tribunals aren't exactly like civilian ones. While there is a defense and a prosecution... there isn't a judge, or a jury, in the sense that you're probably accustomed to thinking of. Instead, there's a tribunal of several ranking officers. Go back and watch the TOS episode "Court Martial" for a great example of this... they "got it right" in that episode.

That's true. My parents hate Star Trek but I just told them Tyler Perry is in this film and they're now planning to see it.
