TWOK Your Favorite Quotes !!

Nero's Shadow

Captain
Captain
Ok it's the 29th annervisary of the TWOK one of mine all time favorite trek films great film great villain and some great lines and quotes. So here's mine from the film....

Kirk where's doctor Marcus I'm doctor Marcus !!!

So what's yours !!!

"You are in a position to demand nothing! I, on the other hand, am in a position to grant nothing."

(Not so much the line itself as much as the way Montalban delivers it.)

"You are in a position to demand nothing! I, on the other hand, am in a position to grant nothing."

(Not so much the line itself as much as the way Montalban delivers it.)

I always thought this one and the way he did it:

"He tasks me. He tasks me, And I will have him" "I'll chase round the moons of Nibia and around the Antares Maelstrom, and around Perditions flames before I give him UP!!!!!!!"

Which is a tweak on two quotes from Moby Dick: "He tasks me" is from "The white whale tasks me; he heaps me. Yet he is but a mask." The second is, "I'll chase him round Good Hope, and round the Horn, and round the Norway Maelstrom, and round perdition's flames before I give him up."

Knew that,...it was just the way RM said it in one breath. I just enjoy that line even coming from a villian...;)

"Surely, I have made my meaning plain. I mean to avenge myself upon you, Admiral. I deprived your ship of power, and when I swing around, I mean to deprive you of your life."

I put the movie in last night. I love it.

Some favorites:

"I don't like to lose." Kirk

"I cannot help but be touched." Khan

"Bull!" McCoy.

"More than a match for poor enterprise." Khan

I love the little McCoy/Kirk ruffle in the turbolift.
McCoy: "Never rains, but it pours"
Kirk: "As a physician, you of all people should appreciate the dangers of reopening old wounds"
McCoy: "Sorry"

Once again, it's not so much the lines, but the delivery: McCoy's smart ass grin, Kirk's quick sharp response, and McCoy's ultimate sarcastic apology.

Well there is alway the obvious...."KHAAAAAANNN!

But one of my favorite exchanges has always been:

McCoy: Where are we going?
Kirk: Where they went.
McCoy: Suppose they went nowhere.
Kirk: Then this will be your big chance to get away from it all.

Kirk: "You're about to remind me that logic alone dictates your actions."
Spock: "I would not remind you of that which you know so well... If I may be so bold, it was a mistake for you to accept promotion. Commanding a starship is your first, best destiny. Anything else is a waste of material."
Kirk: "I would not presume to debate you."
Spock: "That is wise. In any case, were I to invoke logic, logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
Kirk: "Or the one."
Spock: "You are my superior officer. You are also my friend. I have been, and always shall be yours."

Spock: "Really, Doctor McCoy, you must learn to govern your passions - they will be your undoing. Logic suggests..."
McCoy: "Logic?! My God... the man's talking about logic! We're talking about universal Armageddon! You green-blooded, inhuman...!"

Kirk: "I don't believe in a no-win scenario..."

Kirk: "That young man, he's my son!" Spock: (wearily) "Fascinating."

Such an amazingly literate script. :bolian:

Another favorite of mine is

Are shields are dropping !!!!

Khan RAISE THEM !!!

I CAN'T

Khan WHERE'S THE OVERIDE WHERE'S THE OVERIDE !!!!

"I for one am glad to have you at the helm for two weeks. I don't think these kids can steer."

A lot of the good lines are taken, guys.
