If, big if, they revisit Berman era trek, it's almost certainly TNG.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if they cherry-picked from the other series. A new TNG reboot starring Quark and Seven of Nine!

You just want an excuse to see big ears!Although I wouldn't be surprised if they cherry-picked from the other series. A new TNG reboot starring Quark and Seven of Nine!
He's also spoken of remaking "City on the Edge of Forever"If one movie is another sequel in the Abrams series, wouldn't the second be the rumored Quentin Tarantino film which is probbly the remake of the TNG episode Yesterdays Enterprise he's spoken about wanting to make in the past.
I really liked Voyager being away from all the 'responsibilities' and messy Alpha Quadrant politics so somehow I would like them back in the Delta Quadrant. But how?? They would need to go back in.
I don't think I'd want Tarantino touching Voyager! Oh imagine how sordid and grim it would be![]()
Oh, okayI really liked all the 'responsibilities' and messy Alpha Quadrant politics. I'd like a DS9 continuation with maybe a splash of TNG and Voyages cameo's.
Sounds more to my taste actually !
We're broadly on the same page here.Oh, okayYou know I would probably suck up the different tone to have any Trek back especially something that even touches on Voyager.
I personally hope to see it one day. That's in part why although I whinge about Discovery I want it to at least keep Trek alive. Then maybe one day some 24th century fantasy can continue the adventure. That being said someone or two I respect put me on to Enterprise recently and it's been a revelation! We're broadly on the same page here.
I may not exactly be a big fan of Voyager, but any continuation of 24th century Trek would work for me...
The first two seasons were patchy. As a 'Niner I really should have loved the season 3 arc, and while it was a step up in quality, unfortunately I disliked the arc so that didn't work for me.someone or two I respect put me on to Enterprise recently and it's been a revelation!
You guys, come on, its just for fun.
That was the plan in 2002. A "Justice League of Trek" is what Brent Spiner called it. Then Nemesis tanked.I'd love to see a movie involve TNG, DS9 and Voyager. They could set it after Nemesis and have some danger that is threatening the Alpha Quadrant.
She's directing the next movie, which continues on from Star Trek Beyond and will feature most of the Kelvin universe cast returning, along with Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk. It's the same movie that JJ Abrams announced in 2016.I just read that S.J. Clarkson - and not Quentin Tarentino, as planned - will direct the 4th episode of Star Trek's saga. It will be the fist time that a woman will direct a ST movie!(and she knows very well Kate Mulgrew as seeing as she directed several OITNB's episodes!
) However J.J. Abrams will keep producing the next movie so, Chris Pine could star it again... .

S.J. Clarkson
"Has to" how and why? Even if they never continue Kelvin-universe movies beyond ST4, why does everything have to be erased rather than just leaving them to continue their adventures off-screen?Yep.
1) Star Trek 4 in Kelvin = JJ Abramsverse.
2) QT movie.
The first one has to wrap up the Kelvinverse and/or fold it back into the Prime timeline somehow. It will be the last one with that cast. I see a couple possibilities.
Never gonna happen. Don't expect any crossover between CBS' streaming series and Paramount's movies. That's why they split the timeline in the first place, so both could continue to tell Star Trek stories without stepping on each others' toes.3) They somehow interact with STD on a spore drive or Stamets in the mycelial network.
Harlan Ellison threatened to sue on the 2007-ish rumour that the Guardian was gonna be in the Trek reboot. I may well be wrong, but I doubt they'll ever use it again.I think the Guardian from City on the Edge of Forever makes the most sense. Spock should have remembered in the first Kelvinverse movie. Or the Q makes an appearance.
Again, not sure why the movies need to erase themselves? Every other franchise has ongoing parallel iterations (DC's universe, X-Men, Marvel etc) and Trek can too.Anyway, they go back & save the day/restore the timeline. Thus those 4 movies basically never happened. End with the new cast in a TOS established point in time. Say, picking up Gary Mitchell.
