I saw that magnificent image pop up on social media earlier this morning. I love it!
That key art is neat, but I wish it had included the 8 Brain of Morbius Doctors and The Curator as well.
I wonder if they considered putting Tennant 3 times on there.
The Metacrisis Tenth Dovfor Doctor is not a distinct incarnation of the character, regardless of claims to the contrary.
But just as worthy as the Morbius Doctors or The Curator, especially since he had more screen time.
Not really, because the whole point of that key art is to depict official distinct incarnations of the character. The Metacrisis Doctor is just a clone of the Tenth Doctor and is therefore not a separate, distinct incarnation of the character the way that the Morbius Doctors and The Curator are.
The Metacrisis Doctor isn't just a clone of Ten though, he's not identical (one heart for example) but I'd agree, he isn't really the Doctor. If you're going to include the Morbius Doctors why not all the kids we saw in The Timless Children as well though, and what about Brendan?
I would throw a hissy fit if they did that. Not the Curator though, more Tom Baker is always welcome.
1) the point of the key art is to depict official distinct incarnations of the Doctor as identified by that name, so including their Timeless Child incarnations breaks from that.
2) Brendan is not an actual entity, merely a virtual creation of the Matrix created to obscure the truth of the Doctor's origin as the Timeless Child
If you're going to split hairs over Brendan, then I'll point out there's no proof the Curator is the Doctor. Indeed, Moffat's intention was that the Curator was in fact the Moment.
