Spoilers Two big characters return for anniversary.

Meh, everyone may love RTD at the moment, but once his episodes start airing everyone will find something to bitch about and then start reminiscing that "maybe Chibnall wasn't so bad after all."

Nature of fandom.

I'm keeping a close eye.....

I remember how everyone one of his seasons HAD to have earth be the center of attention. Once we got to the 11th doctor we left earth.......and Christmas themed specials.

Not to mention that the doctor basically became Jesus and the little humans couldn't do anything without him around

"We need the Doctaa!"
"I don't know what to do without the Doctaaa!"
"Doctaa SAVE US!"

Oh, lordy.

Chibnall fans are busy trying to harass Russell off Instagram for spoiling his last episode, even though (a) he keeps reminding people about it and (b) even if there hadn't been any official announcements we'd still have found out everything they've announced anyway.

Are there actualy Chibnall fans who are passionate enough about him to harass RTD? I can't say I've ever encoutered a rabid Chibnall stan out there...

For crying out loud, folks, there's plenty of time for other guests and Doctors to be announced. Just because Ten and Donna were announced first doesn't mean they're the only ones who are going to show up.

I don't need to 'wait and see' because my concerns have already been validated.

See the following:

No mention whatsoever of Ncuti, just David Tennant and Catherine Tate.

It's because they're out in the public filming RIGHT NOW. It's all the talk right now.

If there was something to talk about with Ncuti besides being cast as the 14th doctor then that would take precedence.

When the new season starts filming then there will be something to talk about regarding him, the tardis, aliens the new companion, new sonic screwdriver and companion

It occurs to me that if the “specials with past Doctor(s)” thing is real, that neatly explains how Gatwa can film the new season of Sex Education (in production through November) and Doctor Who (due to start its second production block around October).

Am I missing something here?
Fresh from the announcements of new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa and returning stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate, the BBC have announced another new addition to the BBC sci-fi drama: Heartstopper star Yasmin Finney.

^ Ncuti gets one tiny mention in a 5-paragraph article that otherwise touts Tennant and Tate as "starring" in the 60th Special.

But that's not the same as "no mention whatsoever."

Seriously, man, you're really overreacting. The main story of that article is about Tennant and Tate returning.

Not that logic or reason has any part to play here. You've already decided to be angry and all doom and gloom and no matter what, nothing is going to change your mind.

And around and around we go, the same shit, different day.

Why are you so flipping concerned for Ncuti? He'll be fine. He's got a massive following already. I doubt he's worried about it.

I want the Fourteenth Doctor to be the primary focus of his debut story as has been the case with every other new Doctor.

With that said, the host of the Council of Geeks YouTube channel, Nathaniel Wayne, has echoed my concerns about Ncuti having to share the 60th Anniversary Special with Tennant and Tate, which has, paradoxically, helped me calm down somewhat.

I'm still very disappointed, but I'm also going to try and move past that disappointment and focus my energy elsewhere.

I'm sure that even if the Fourteenth Doctor is completely overshadowed in his debut story (or virtually absent), he'll still be the primary focus for years afterwards. And maybe once again in the 70th.

Dailymail posted their article with some close up pictures/ I have to say. David Tennant looks better here than "Day of the Doctor" His hair there was flat and he looked pale/drab

Someone's attacking coffee shops! That's the most diabolical/sadistic of Doctor Who so far

I'm REALLY curious now about why thirteen regenerates back to Ten and has enough time to readjust(new clothes, reset their attitude) back a couple regenerations.

I wonder if this is the work of a higher power.

"Doctor. I'm giving you the chance to make amends. You have 4 days to say goodbye before you regenerate and move on......"

*Force regenerates to Ten*

Maybe quick shots of the other doctors also making amends

Five- I've got to say goodbye properly to Tegan or Peri

Sixth doctor- I should say sorry to Peri about choking her.

Eleven- I really need to say goodbye to adult Amy.

Ten is definitely one for having his way with regenerations. He was so against leaving. It wouldn't surprise me if he found his way back. He's definitely the version the Doctor would feel left unhappy.

Given they're all the same person you'd wonder why the Doctor would need to degenerate into Ten in order to put things right. Why couldn't Smith, Capaldi or Whittaker have put things right?

I mean obviously the reason is the 60th and to bring back Mr Popularity etc, but still.

I did have another theory about Ten (which from what we've seen/heard so far seems unlikely but might as well voice it). What if Tennant is returning as 10.5? Maybe Rose died and he's found a way back to our universe? He acquires a Tardis somehow, finds a way to reverse the issue with Donna and then at the end of the specials he and Donna head off into the universe. Gatwa is still the 14th Doctor and the primary TV Doctor, but every few years Tennant and Tate find time in their schedules for a special or two, or maybe even a cinematic movie?

RTD was talking about an expanded universe?

I dunno. Ever since "The Two Doctors" in which Two and Six teamed up, I thought it was possible for a past Doctor to be lifted from his timestream and allowed to exist as a temporal paradox (allowed to get older and be in the present day). This idea was kind of reinforced in "Time Crash" in which Ten met an older Five and pointed out several times he was older than he remembered him to be due to a "time differential"...
