Twitter and Facebook

I think we may have had something about Facebook a while back, but do many people here have a Twitter account? Or do people have both?

I feel that Facebook can do the same job as Twitter, but I'm wondering if Twitter is used more by artists and companies to announce new products? So far I've found Facebook sufficient. If I did use Twitter, it would only be to receive announcements; it doesn't strike me as that effective a way to communicate because it's one way. It's like elective spam or something, which seems weird.

I use Twitter and Facebook, however I use them differently. I actually use Facebook only for friends & family, I mean real friends and actual family. If you are a fringe family member, a friend who really is just an acquaintance or friend of friend or someone I think is cool, then I will follow you on Twitter.

I have a Twitter account, because that's where my last employer announced snow/emergency closings, but I don't use it for anything else. I do use Facebook.

Don't use either. I should really use Twitter for one of my businesses, but I can't be arsed to get round to it. Will do, eventually.

I use Facebook to talk to my friends who I don't see too often in person, and have a joke around with those who I do

Twitter just seems to be a site to stalk celebrities on. I have no interest in that so don't use it

I use Twitter mostly to follow certain people (e.g. some actors, journalists) and a couple of companies that have interesting things to say.

I often post short status updates (i.e. completely inane BS ;)) on both Failbook and Twitter simultaneously, using TweetDeck on my phone.

I'm thinking of starting a Twitter feed to highlight some of the wheels-off things people put on their resumes, but like the good doctor above, haven't been arsed to do it yet.

I've got a folder full of examples.

i.e. "To obtain a professional position that will allow me to exhilarate my skills".

:wtf:

I have both, use facebook to chat with friends and family, and use twitter to follow news and what not find out information occasionally.

Yeah, I have Facebook, mostly for family and friends and, um, other acquaintances. I don't post there every day, though, although at one point I was there daily for the games such as Scrabble (then stopped after I kept winning all my games :sigh:).

However, I am also on Twitter, mostly to commentate on and discuss the news and TV and other events with all sorts of people, and to see what's on the minds of some better-known (and not-so-well-known) people. I tend to be more outspoken and vociferous on the Twitter. ;)

I have a fb account where I can both keep up with my family and condemn progressivism, socialism, political correctness, and communism at will. Which I do just about every day

Please, please do this!

I've had FB for a few years as most friends and family don't live nearby, but only got a Twitter account because the app came free with my phone. I use Twitter to follow news and law blogs, and a few humour accounts as well. Most days I just read and don't Tweet, though I'm more active on FB.

I was the Manager of Information Technology for a large Fast Food chain in North New Jersey. We had stores from Virginia all the way up to Connecticut.

I would often have to remote into a stores computer and more times then I can count would find someones Resume on the machine. Since I was never directed in what to do when I found them, I would never tell anyone. However, I would provide an invaluable service to those employees. I would often fix spelling, grammer or other mistakes in their Resumes. No one ever thanked me.

I have a facebook account but rarely use it. I've never needed or desired to have a twitter account, although I'm not closed to using one should a need arise for it.

I have both a FB account and a Twitter account, but I don't use the Twitter account.

I'm on FB alot...but I don't find Twitter to be all that intuitive to use...and it's a lot of work to sift through all the spam to get to anything worthwhile.

I like Facebook and use it a lot, it's great for keeping in touch with people etc. I did join Twitter but I never really 'got' it. Just seemed like if you didn't really know many people on there at the start there wasn't much point.

I rather like how Twitter allows me to be irrelevant 140 characters at a time.

I have both, but prefer facebook. I use twitter to follow news and other items, but I have so few followers and it does seem like no one cares about what I say to the point where posting anything on there seems irrelevant.

I post ponies.

I use both, but lately it's just facebook I read a few times a day, but just too lazy to post an update, as nothing much is happening in my life lately.
