's coming out on DVD soon. Worth getting? To set the scene I have Underworld and the sequel which I freely admit are dreadful but in a guilty pleasures way. According to RottenTomatoes, Twilight actually gets a much better rating than Underworld but I thought I would ask the cognoscenti first.

It's a teen drama flick with sparkling vampires and dullest lead actors imaginable. Rifftrax is the only was to enjoy it.

Twilight has been out for months hasn't it?

I read the books, I saw the film, I thought the film was OK but didn't make much sense without Bella's inner thoughts to tell you why some of the stuff made sense at least to her, but my friends both said it was decent enough.

Yes it's been out a while. That's why I said DVD. I wouldn't be seen dead going to see it at a cinema.

Well, maybe if I were dead it would be quite cool to be seen going to a vampire movie, come to think of it. But I can think of lots of other cooler things to be seen doing.

No, I mean the DVD was out in April or something wasn't it?

The version I'd rather see.

Oh I loved Blade and II. Everyone said don't whatever you do watch Trinity, so I didn't, so my memory is pure.

Bob - I think you're right. I have so much stuff on pre-order I got confused. Apologies.

By the way I don't know what Rifftrax is.

I know how that goes. *looks at 3 pages of pre-orders on amazon*
RiffTrax is pretty much Mystery Science Theater 3000 where you already own the DVD and you buy the mp3 of them taking the piss out of the film and listen.

There's some expensive "gift set" version of Twilight coming out this week. That might have been what you saw.

I give the movie a skip because vampires don't sparkle in the sunlight. They turn into crispy critters.

Basically its Mike Nelson and a couple of the old MST3K crew riffing on big budget Hollywood productions. Like Bob said, you download the audio file for a couple bucks and listen along as you watch your own copy of the dvd.

Being Human dispensed with the sunlight thing quite practically, I thought. They're all pick and mix bits of the original myth. If you want to take it to the absolute extreme, the approach the Ultraviolet TV series had was the most logical, where nothing could reflect, record, or film vamps. They were only 'real' to humans.

I found Twilight to be quite insulting to me, a moviegoer. The pacing felt off, the actors were awful, the dialogue wasn't very good, everything about the vampires made me rolled my eyes. I also have a very specific issue about vampires driving volvos ;)

Basically, it was an awful movie. I can't imagine what the books must be like.

Uh, Dracula could walk around in sunlight as he pleased. He just lost most of his powers during the daylight hours.

Two words: spider monkey

Blech.

I havent seen the first one but I saw the trailer for the 2nd before Harry Potter 6 & I kinda want to see it for the werewolves. Those are some big cuddly werewolves.

Teens are eating this crap up for some reason

I feel sorry for them there isn't anything good out like Buffy was when I was their age
