Milner would have made a great relief helmsman. Maybe with George Maharis or Kent McCord as the navigator?
I see Milner as a Commodore, believe it or not...but yeah, he could probably be a helmsman or security officer.
I don't think George Maharis or Kent McCord were in the original TZ, unfortunately...so I can't place them in Trek.
Another that came to mind yesterday, while I was reading: Burt Reynolds, who did a very excellent impression of Marlon Brando in the episode 'The Bard.'
Of course Reynolds was almost Milners co-star.
No, in Route 66. Reynolds was offered the part of George Mahariss replacement, but turned it down, so it was given to Glenn Corbett. Robert Duvall was also considered, and was even auditioned in one episode, but was rejected as being "too offbeat".
