Tv show's you're completely obsessed with:(spin off thread)

So basically you're obsessed with everything you've ever seen?

Etymology
From Latin obsessio (“a besieging”), from obsidere (“to besiege”); see obsess.

Noun
obsession (countable and uncountable; plural obsessions)
A compulsive or irrational preoccupation.
An unhealthy fixation.

You're obsessed with all those shows???

I have most of them if not all on dvd and when they come out on blu ray I get them on blu ray and watch them every chance I can. I got a huge collection and it grows every year.

My current comedy obsessions are:

...Parks and Recreation...

"Parks" is the funniest show on network TV right now (maybe on cable too). It's close to being an 'obsession' with me but unlike serialized shows like Mad Men or Walking Dead I don't think about it day to day. Also, unlike those shows I don't worry about watching it out of order or missing an ep and having the show 'ruined.'

Tried both, didn't care for either.

5-0 is just not Jack Lordy enough for me. I would have had them do a "retro" style/"Reservoir Dogs" style procedural: set in modern times but with elements of a sixties "Mad Man" look, including McGarrett dressed like "Mr. White".

Currently, the only things I'm really obsessed with are the few competition shows I watch - Dancing with the Stars and The Sing-Off. When the most recent season of The Sing-Off ended, I watched YouTube videos over and over until I finally just gave up and bought it on Amazon. Very close to obsession level is Smash - waiting to see how it plays out.

Really that's all the current stuff that I have to watch as soon as I can after it airs. Everything else is "meh." I watch Alcatraz because I'm mildly interested and because the episodes expire on Hulu - I've got 2 or 3 right now that I have to watch before the weekend is out or I'll miss them. We'll see if I get motivated and actually do.

Past obsessions:

Firefly
Farscape
TNG, DS9, Voyager
Buffy & Angel
Dollhouse
So Weird
Journeyman
Life
Now and Again
Earth 2

I'm sure there's a whole lot more that I'm not remembering at the moment. I don't really obsess much anymore.

My current obsession/near obsessions

Anything that Sir David Attenborough puts his name to.

Supernatural
Game of Thrones
Dr Who
Bones

and I am currently looking at Sooty DVDs. I have loved Sooty since I was a child.

I'm watching a lot of shows religiously these days, in that I never miss an episode if I can help it. Everything from Castle to Face-Off to The Walking Dead.

And I was once obsessed enough with Xena that I wrote an entire non-fiction book on the series--without being asked!

The only shows I watch that are still in production are Law & Order: SVU and This Week In Baseball. If I have any 'obsessions' they are for shows that are no longer made, like Corner Gas (my favorite show of all time), The Red Green Show, Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Shows that are still producing new material

Supernatural
Walking Dead
Breaking Bad
Justified
Amazing Race
Game of Thrones
Downton Abby
Glee (i know, its my guilty pleasure)

Shows that I am still obsessed over but no longer air
Anything Trek
NuBSG
Lost
Wire
Homicide
Farscape (took forever to get into it, now love it)
Veronica Mars
Queer as Folk

Currently obsessed with Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Community, The Killing.

In the past was obsessed with:

S.T. Ent (to the point where I was on that dude's spoiler mailing list during seasons 3 and 4),

Next Gen

24

Curb (which, as has been pointed out takes place entirely in the Seinfeld as a T.V. show, universe)

Add to my "oldies but goodies" obsession list The Torkelsons. Every once in a while I have to blow thru the series on YouTube again (like I'm doing now :D).

Obsessed with: Dollhouse (I was abroad when it came on and had no tv, so it's a recent discovery for me), South Park.

Love: Castle, How I Met Your Mother.

Past Obsessions: Andromeda, TOS, E:FC, Maverick, Forever Knight.

I just watched three DVDs worth of Buffy episodes (first watch) this weekend. It was going to only be one but then I saw the end of I Was Made to Love You and the rest is history...

Castle - a fun and funny show

Person of Interest - there's a lot of foreshadowing going on in this show. The Machine doesn't seem to be as benevolent as it first seemed.

I'd have to say that I'm totally obsessed with (aside from ST) Doctor Who (Ten is my fave) and Torchwood (love me my Ianto).

Right now:

Luck
. Something epic is brewing here, such a massive sense of dread building that I find myself literally gripping a cushion as I watch, feeling relief only when the 50+ minutes are up. Milch has something which, if all slots into place, could match Deadwood, which I didn't think was possible given that shows pedigree.

Game of Thrones: Simply can not stop watching the recent trailers for Season 2 and I am on countdown to the season premiere. Something I have not done since Farscape season 3 (following the wonderment of the season 2 finale).

Both of these are, in fact, the only shows of recent memory where I am actively obsessing over and repeating the same talking points with my friends again and again.

Then there is Breaking Bad, which I adore top to bottom, but can not convince a single other person to watch and so, I obsess alone like the good geek i am ;)

Previous obsessions - Farscape, Deadwood, Deep Space 9, Babylon 5, Buffy/Angel, Avatar: The Last Airbender (again another show I could not convince another living soul to watch, regardless of its brilliance)

Hugo - nice to have something to invest in

I agree. I've been really enjoying it and I feel like the show might just explode at some point soon.
