Final numbers for V: 14.3 million viewers (8.7/13 HH and 5.2/14 A18-49). That's ABC's most-watched series premiere since Ugly Betty in 2006.

Wow--good news for the sci-fi genre. Long as the show stays good. Depending on numbers for the next couple of shows, might convince ABC to pick up a 22 episode season.

Am worried about ABC cause they won't do 22 due to stopping production to run it as a mini series and the possilbility of more in 2010 though from reports not early 2010. I fear whatever the break, it will damage the show.

EDIT - just found the idea...

Four episodes of V will be aired in November 2009, and the series will be resumed in March 2010 after the Winter Games to complete its 13 episode season

POOR POOR idea that will most likely kill it, at the least all 4 episodes should be re aired before it continues maybe over the course of two nights.

Yep I didn't bother watching V because it's DOA. After months off the viewers for the 5th episode will most likely be half to a third of the pilot.

Also you go from Monday the 2nd to Tuesday the 4th.... scary!

That is just stupid. This show won't have a chance.

Re: TV Ratings (Tuesday 3th November)

Why didn't they wait til March to show V if they are going to have such a huge gap???

Re: TV Ratings (Tuesday 3th November)

Be a shame if ratings held at that high level and ABC didn't modify its approach. Crazy.

Re: TV Ratings (Tuesday 3th November)

Agreed. I think it makes sense to give the show a break during the Olympics, but only airing four episodes and then not showing anymore until March is just ludicrous.

ABC already canceled the show. Production was shut down, and ABC is trying to kill the show that way when they officially cancel it they have an excuse.

Would ABC really be brain dead enough to deliberately kill their best-premiering show this year?

Maybe. If it were NBC - definitely. :rommie:

Yeah, I hope this gets ABC's attention, but probably not.

Was there a reason they changed from the original plan for it to have a regular season to having a 4-episode 'preview' now, and then continue the season in March?

Some good early news for "V"...
A good sign for V seems to be that it grew in it's second half hour instead of shedding viewers
:techman:

I wonder how many people were watching election coverage on cable news and forgot it was on till half way through.... Not that that's what happened to me or anything.:shifty:

Should've posted this here perhaps.

I was not able to watch the premiere this past Tuesday because our local ABC affliate airs the 'Titans: Jeff Fisher Game Review' at 7pm local time(the V slot). Instead they would air 'V' at 12:05am. I do not have a means to record at present.
I'm told that 'V' will be prempted for the next 2 Tuesdays as well for Jeff Fishers show but that we will get the 4th and final 'V'?? As if I want to tune into episode 4 without seeing the others.

My question is this: Do other NFL markets have "Coach Shows" during primetime that preempt broadcast programming at the parent company level like this? I don't know what size market the Nashville/MidTN area is but any Nielsons that could've contributed didn't.

It happens here in WI. It's being shown on saturday night here at like 11 pm.

Because the network determined the follow-on scripts were crap. They also had problems with the show runner guy from 4400, Peters, he's out now and some guy from Chuck is in.

ABC destroyed "Commander and Chief", they will do the same with V.

V should have always been played as a 13 episode miniseries, there just isn't enough story to keep it going for 100+ episodes.
