Here's an idea for the prequel (if they insist on keeping the two current leads).

Do the spinoff, but have Padalecki and Ackles just play their ancestors.

That would be hilarious.

^ That's why I dread the possibility CW will get Terminator if Fox terminates it.

Only if daddy Moonves gifts the network with a whooooole lotta cash. I doubt Terminator is CW bound.

^ CW was mentioned by the producers a few weeks ago as one of their options. WB is producing it at closeout prices for Fox (they're worried about backlash for Salvation).

Oh, I didn't realize that Warners produced it. That puts a different spin on things if Warner thinks it can make money overseas with it. Maybe it'll try to get CW to air it.

^ Yeah. Fox is paying bare bones for it from WB and WB has been buying up advertising for the show.

^ I'm not going to disagree mainly because I have the same thought. If the show gets renewed (despite the ratings increases and the very high overseas and DVR numbers) it'll be because of Salvation.

I like the idea it being about John Winchester, like the comics are. There's plenty to explore there.

Exactly, the only reason they will show all the episodes is because of the movie, and the only reason they will save the show is because of the movie.
