It will cost too much and not do that well, mainly because the whole idea of the show is lame.
Hopefully Fox will loet the Fringe producers know if the show will end this season with enough time for them to craft a proper wrap up for it rather than a rushed one.
With Terra Nova let's see how well the pilot does. If it performs poorly Fox may not even commission a series for the 2011-2012 season.

I have no idea what the idea is besides Steven Spielberg presents dinosaurs! But none of that has anything to do with my point. It'll get a full season order, even if it is a disaster.
I don't think the writers could finish the show this season, it seems to be building towards something than would expand the show not wrap it up.
Prison Break was a FOX production I believe and am sure Fringe costs more to make so I doubt WB will want to give FOX a cheaper deal to air the show. I would be be very happy to see Fringe get a 13 episode 4th season to wrap up the plotlines though a lame duck network like NBC could benefit from picking up the show to help it rebuild Monday nights.
Its so unfair what FOX did in season 2 because Fringe could of been a 5/6 year show with 100-130 episodes.

A couple of things. Explain to me again why Blue Bloods is probably okay, while The Defenders is in the "Down comes the axe" category?
Secondly was The Good Guys' numbers that horrendous in the summer, and if so, how in the hell did it get renewed. And when will it be going away?

The Good Guys wasn't renewed. Fox order X amount of episodes, and showed half in the summer and half in the fall.
Blue Blood is getting 10+ million viewers on Fridays at 10pm. The demo is horrible, but it's still 10 million plus on a Friday. It's the fact it's on a Friday and I think somewhat stable that is why it's OK.

I don't find Glee or Modern Family all that great(not saying those are your favs, just picking other popular shows) but I don't wish them ill.
$#*! has an over 10m + in viewers as far as average goes. It's demo may be just around 3 though for an average.
On another board a poster mentioned how last year Eleventh Hour on CBS averaged 10.5 million but CBS didn't like its demo score(he didn't say what that was) and it got cancelled having had an 18 episode season.
I hope $#*! can maintain a good demo average in that case then. Cause it's got viewers that an NBC show would kill for.
The Defenders has dropped from 12.09 million to 8.40 million (latest ep) its mainly been holding in the 9 million range but with a low demo that may of gone under 2.0 so its dead.

Besides Saturday (which no one really programs for anymore) Friday has the lowest HUT levels, which means its has the least number of people watching it, thus you will never see a good performance on Friday.
Typically shows lose between 20-30% of their audience in going to Friday.
Thus a equal performance of a show on Friday means it would most likely be doing far better on another night (well of course except Saturday).
Thats why for example the piss poor .9 Supernatural go this week in the eyes of the studio is superior to the .9 Nikita got.
In the Case of CBS Defenders is doing poor and would be getting even worse results at any time on Friday.
Thats why Smallville performance this full season is rather amazing as its beating all but two shows on the CW, on average, and even SN (which feel to a season low) is averaging fourth, when both programs should be near dead least for their network.
Vampire Diaries (and certainly Top Model) would most likely be getting lower viewers and lower adults 18-49 on Friday (though both would still beat Smallville with Women and overall young adults).

As a general rule, I take the approach to life that I like what I like, and it's okay if people don't like what I like. I might try to persuade someone to my point of view, but if they don't like it, they don't like it, and that's okay. The shame with TV shows, like The Defenders for example, if enough other people don't like it, it's gone and those of us who do enjoy it, don't get to enjoy it either. Once a TV show is cancelled, it's gone.
