Yeah it's looking like Detroit 1-8-7 may have a limited lifespan too. Too bad if it does get booted. Not a bad show at all.

Re: TV Ratings (Tuesday 12th October)

Bye Bye Detroit 1.8.7 we hardly knew thee

ABC will be worried about the dip in No Ordinary Family, especially in the demo. Is it me or are less and less 18-49 actually watching Live TV ? I don't know why ABC won't open the night with DWTS to achor its prime time Tuesday.

Speaking of LIVE TV...networks are pushing hard for all new DVR's to have a feature that makes it impossible to skip ads...I touted this idea about 2 years ago in one of my ratings thread...took ya long enough networks.

Raising Hope has been picked up for a full 22 and its not doing totally awful but the axe will swing for Running Wilde this week.

Running Wilde will not be axed for a few more weeks I think. Fox seems to have wanted to make it their big show. But the ratings drop anymore a half an hour rerun of House would do better.

Raising hope lose a million viewers? I like that show, plus it will be on after American Idol (Unless Fox keeps Running Wilde then) so it should be fine. Fox needs two 30 minute shows for Tuesday at 9:30 and Wednesday at 8:30 for after AI.

The thing with ads is I don't mind them! If they want to run the same amount of ads on hulu as on TV, I'm fine with that. It's a good bathroom break time.

Detroit gives tax breaks for TV shows, so Detroit 1.8.7 might have a slim chance. However networks need to realize we want different type of shows like USA does. Cop shows only work on CBS, it just happens CBS is number one in viewers.

Hope you're wrong, but I know you're probably not. :(

It's my fault folks, all the new shows this season that I've liked are tanking (except for Blue Bloods). I'm not a fan of Hawaii NCIS so it probably will last for years.

I don't know, I was talking to a friend that told me about this story and we're just not sure how much people are going to be willing to put up with. The commericals have gotten so insanely stupid that people may just say F it and give up on TV. They're already bleeding viewers, and now they want to piss off some more? Doesn't sound smart to me.

I guess the bigger question is, how long can the "free TV" model survive?

I take it SyFy's Tuesday lineup doesn't even rate? Poor Stargate. :p

Also, I wonder how many of those 17 million people just watch NCIS out of habit now. It's almost become a conditioned response for me at this point anyway.

All nerds and geeks deserve Nielsens boxes.

That still wouldn't help that Caprica and SGU are just BORING shows.

To you, I like SGU despite it flaws and despite the other two SG shows being better. Am sure the DVR news will show that SGU would be pulling in at least 1.5 million on friday but they rather put Smackdown on followed by Sanctuary (normally gets lower ratings than SGU when they both aired on fridays).

SYFY should of aired Caprica 1.5 in the late summer to wrap up before Smackdown, then have SGU at 10pm after smackdown. Sanctuary could then air during the midseason gap for SGU and finish off its full 20 episode season after SGU 2nd half.

SY FY you wanted your shows to be spread out among the year, well thats one plan you didn't think of.

Was The Whole Truth canceled? Because it's never a good sign when you are skipped over for a 20/20 special about the miners.

Final ratings for Tuesday's SFF shows:

No Ordinary Family (ABC) - 7.718 million viewers (4.8/7 HH and 2.3/6 A18-49)

Stargate Universe (Syfy) - 1.222 million viewers (0.8/1 HH and 0.5/1 A18-49)

Caprica (Syfy) - 0.840 million viewers (0.5/1 HH and 0.3/1 A18-49)
